Date Title Body
Dearborn..........

Dearborn is really a great town, if you can afford it, I would try to live in Downtown Dearborn. It gives you that downtown feel and the condominiums there are beautiful. Also, some great bars and restaurants on Michigan Avenue. If you are looking to lease a nice condo I do not seeing it being more than 800-1000 dollars a month. Also, if your looking for more of a bachelor lifestyle, the lofts are gorgeous on top of some of those restaurants, I used to actually stay in one.

Welcome to town! Hope that helps a bit.

This is stupid.....

Big deal! He called someone a F'n Jew! Cry me a river. I also find it funny how bashing a Jew has it's own title, instead of it just falling under the racism category. Sick of how this country caters to Jews. Only reason this is a big deal is because the media is ran by Jews and there is a ton of them in New York. Get him back on the damn field asap. Every single one of us have dealt with some kind of slur before.

I just thought.....

maybe we did only because I thought the staff would go for the best available player if some scholly's open up. Ideally, I would like to beef up with some more interior  D lineman and 2 more wide recievers along with Isaac.

I wonder....

If we get back in the Pocic sweepstakes if we strike out with Levenberry.......

Right Decision

Kudos to Jeff Long on making a tough, but right decision. Love the quote as well, "no individual is bigger than the team!" I wonder where he got that from.

I asked.....

Coach Hoke about Furman personally last week at the coach's clinic. He replied with a bit of a smirk, "He's still here."

I took it as he is in the dog house for something, but is still a part of the team as long as he obliges to whatever the coaches are asking from him.

He can come......

Where I coach, I will take him gladly and in big need of a tackle lol. It is not too far from Wyandotte either. I wonder if I can recruit him.....

If we do that..........

to Clark. Then we can pretty much say bye bye to any future recruits from Glenville. It has been said that he spent most of his time with Mattison during his official. I would guess that means they want him to play LB. I would definitely like Clark to be in this class because I believe he will be a good defensive player for us with his size. Also, i think and hope this is the hurdle we finally get over with Glenville prospects. Therefore, I think it is a mistake to pull his scholarship, especially when it has been stated that Ted Ginn Sr. has a lot of respect for Hoke.

Never will I forget.......

That Virginia Game. I was in the 6th grade and that was the game that made me fall in love with Michigan Football. I believe that was Lloyd Carr's first game as our head coach. Musberger's words when Hayes scored still echo in my head till this day!

While these guys are right..........

In Michigan's case the last 3 years the belly has been a inside zone run with a zone blocking scheme. Meaning 2 offensive lineman will block one guy and then one of them will chip to a linebacker. An iso play tends to involve a fullback in the backfield, usually out of an I formation. The blocking scheme for that is bigs on bigs ( O lineman vs D lineman) and your fullback will go back on back with the linebacker that you want to isolate.

I do worry......

about the integrity of the program. I am pretty sure that is DB and MSC's job to make sure Les knows what may have been acceptable down there is not in Ann Arbor. Do you really think DB does not address this stuff in the interview or hiring process??

I just want......

Michigan to do well. This football program is something very passionate to me and the others on this board. I just find it very disturbing that this program is not being destroyed from the outside, but the inside. I just think these higher ups need to stop being selfish and put away personal agendas for the better of this program. Sorry about the exclamation points, but in my head I was yelling.

GO BLUE!

Well Guess What.......

You are not DB or god for that matter to say if someone is morally fit somewhere. You do not know exactly what happened down there. There are two sides to every story. I am not a big fan of him, but if he is going to be our next coach then everyone needs to support him! Or we will be doing this again in another three years! No coach is going to succeed without everyone being unified! I find it unbelievable that some people do not understand that! The case with RR should tell everyone that we need to support the next coach. Michigan is a great university with a traditional football program, we are not an elite college football program right now. We have the resources to be one but right now we are not because we lack a coach and our fan base is divided. Some people need to get off their high horses and open up there eyes just a bit. Bo is not around anymore, this is not the BO, Moeller and lloyd era anymore and this "Michigan Man" term is going to kill me if I hear it one more time! If it is Les MIles or not let that person prove to be a Michigan Man!

Someone tell me....

Why is he flying in the Dominoes Jet still? That is if it truly is him flying in it. Doesn't he have a Michigan jet that he can fly around in??

Dolphins Fan here......

and I really do not like this move at all if it is actually true. They need to get Bill Cowher and give him full control of that team. The reason for not getting Cowher is Ross was not willing to let go of his GM Jeff Ireland, which is a bad move. I wish JH all the luck in Miami, but I just do not see this ending well for him if this truly is the case. With the amount of money he is going to get paid, unreasonable expectations will also come with it. Also, the division he plays in may be the best division in the NFL. Right now, Miami cannot compete with the Jets or Patriots. JH will be looking for a new gig in 3 years and Michigan will not be open for him.

Just my opinion here, so take it for what it is worth. JH is intimidated by the Michigan job. He knows that there is some work to do here and I believe he is scared of failing here. So, he is looking for someone else to fix this mess. (mainly on D)) He has a lot of connects and friends here and the possibility of him failing is turning him off. Just my opinion here again.

Have no problem.....

with these posts, they are actually better than a lot of the other posts going on in this board lately.

is that a......

CBS telecast?

..........

Stay classy.........he just did not succeed here, it happens. But to try to tell me he did not put his heart into it, well thats bullshit.

sry

the board is running slow did not mean to post it 3 times

Im a Dolphins fan as well.........

What is funny besides the obvious mistakes is that Sparano was never an offensive coordinatior. He was a O line coach for the cowboys.

Why?

Why cant someone come on here and voice his opinion?? This site has become mlive, everytime someone wants to voice their opinion someone else has something stupid to say. He is free to voice it, this is a message board and none of you control it. Also, his title gave a title indicating what the hell the thread is about. If you do not want to read his thoughts dont click on the damn thread.Instead, this board is now filled with threads about people arguing if its origination is valid or not! Can we all just quit that shit. If it does not have more than 10 replies that will tell people it will probably not me a good thread. Instead, now were seeing threads with 100 replies and 90 of them are people bitching at each other!

Had to Vent.

I would even......

take Marcus Curry back if he was still eligible to play!

Longshot??

Can someone tell me why Lyons is a longshot now?? I follow recruiting everyday and have not heard any news of him since his last visit........so why is he a longshot?

I agree......

It is definitely a legitimate question.......do we know any thing on a guy like Dallas Crawford for example? Is he all in for Michigan under the stipulation that Coach Rod is there? I have no problem at all with this topic. It was not in reference to Dee Hart, it is our whole recruiting class.

Reminds........

me of David Terrel. David was great after the catch especially after catching the quick hitch route.

Honestly......

There is many more factors that come into play these days. Working in the school system, you would not believe the homes these kids come from. Yes, even in the suburbs. There is not a lot of stability at home and it effects these kids with school. The divorce rate is at an all time high, so more kids are growing up in single parent homes. That will play a role in a students grades and overall enthusiasm for school. I do not know what the exact case was with Conway, but I do know he is living with his coach. So i can imagine his first few years of high school were not the most memorable. Kudos to his coach for taking him in and making an impact. It is obvious he has been on the right track ever since, just fell a bit short. Hopefully he meets these requirements and goes on to play somewhere in college.

I think....

We really need frost on the defensive side of the ball. The idea of him on offense will really disappoint me. If we are fortunate enough to land Lucien then he can be Conway's replacement. Then, maybe go after another WR, after all they did want Sammy Watkins. A lot can happen in one month. I am sure we land a prospect on signing day that we have not heard of all year. Never fails.

Definitely think....

that Carvin Johnson was a great pick up for us in last years class. I am very high on him and cannot wait to see him as a final product in a few years. If Richardson can bring that kind of toughness and ability to tackle in the open field then I do hope we see him rockin the maize and blue.

I hope......

you are right Dreisbach. Scott Dreisbach was one of my favorite Wolverines by the way. Not for what he did on the field, but, he was the first Michigan player I ever met in person in the 6th grade.

Just read that.....

On Rivals, was not sure if i was able to post that on here or if it fell under premium information. Very disappointing, coached him in a few 7 on 7's in the offseason last year. He is quite the talent, hope he takes the initiative to do what he has to do to get in a Michigan uniform.

Good luck Shawn!

Think that it is great.....

That we are emphasizing defense towards the end of this class. But, I am not that impressed with his offers. I am sure most will agree that a recruit's offer sheet tells a lot about his playing ability and potential. Sure, the kid can be a sleeper. But I am tired of sleepers at Michigan. I want someone established and is ready to play immediately. ( Maybe it is because I watched the Charles Woodson Big Ten Icon Feature today)

I may get negged for this, but by no means is this a knock at the young man. I am speaking in general. Anyone who is given a chance to play at Michigan and wants to run with that opportunity is immediately a Michigan Man in my book and would love this kid to jump on board.

Go Blue!

I would say 18

They should be 10-2 going into the big ten season. Check out the the schedule, does anybody disagree? I say win 8 in the big ten and they get in. A conference tourney win locks it up in my opinion. BTW Evan Smotrycz is a big surprise. Thought he played great tonight!

GO BLUE!

I agree........

I think he is slow....this is the guy that RR would recruit for his defense at West Virgina. His defensive philosophy on defense needs to change and that includes the recruiting on that side of the ball. We need bigger faster guys. He does not fit that mold. Also, comparing him to Jake Ryan? Watch Jake Ryan's Game Film again, it was filled with bone crushing hits. I did not see one here. To me, he is a glorified Jordan Kovacs. I may get negged for this, oh well, just speaking the truth. Btw I am All in!

Go Blue!

I have no problem with the Mentality............

My problem there was not the mentality of sitting on the ball, it was the the idea of running your quarterback (obviously our best player) two plays in a row when you had no intention of scoring. In that situation you pound your running back for two plays up the middle and see if anything happens. If Denard got hurt in that situation, it would have just been bad for RR.

You obviously never played qb

It is the hardest thing to throw a wet football on a grass field. Your jersey weighs more than usual and you really never feel comfortable in your pads when it rains. Not to mention that ball is on the ground when it is snapped. The qb then gets the ball that was just on the ground. You know that thing they call a snap? Yea thats how the ball gets slick, muddy, etc. I give credit to all the qbs in college and in the nfl that throw the ball the way they do in those kind of elements. The ball got away from Denard on that second interception, no doubt about it.

Better every week........

He has got better every week. Good for him, i know a lot of people on here were giving him a hard time  earlier in the season, hope his play the last 2 weeks tones that down a bit.

Also, we don't know what is going to happen next year as far as the starting running back. Will it be Hart? Fitz? No one knows, but I do know Vincent Smith will continue to be a contributor as a first or second back. He is vital to our team. He is a reason why I dont think Malcolm Crockett is a need in this class. Then again, anyone who wants to wear the Maize and Blue and is given the opportunity, we will take him.

GO BLUE!

Never Seen that anywhere.......

But....if he did say that, I absolutely agree with him. High school kids get vibes from programs and their alumni that can eventually cause them to lean one way or another. Especially with the Internet these days.

Well, they should. I coach in

Well, they should. I coach in the area, so I am familiar with all these teams. We played CC in week one. They in my opinion have got worst as the year went by. They lost two games they had no business losing. With all that said, I definitely think they beat Northville tomorrow and hand it to plymouth next week. In my years of coaching though, I have noticed that teams that get hot in the playoffs are tough to beat. Plymouth is one of those teams now. I hope we follow in their footsteps and do the same thing tomorrow/today and eliminate another undefeated team. As you can tell I cant sleep because of our game. It is 5 am and I am on here lol. Also, in quite the dilemmna with the Michigan game. The plan is to record it on my DVR, turn my phone off, and watch it when I get home. Hopefully after a win! Go Blue!!

Sorry Guys

Dont know why my last 2 posts are posted at the top, I am sure I probably hit reply to the original poster. Too early still.

Really??

I find that interesting that schools dont have their own ST coach........well if theres a school that should right now, I think it's Michigan. I can count on one hand the amount of big plays our special teams have had this decade. Off the top of my head............Stonum's return against ND and the blocked FG against FL in the Cap One Bowl.

Honestly.....

How does a program like Michigan not have its own Special Teams Coach???!!! Am I the only one this sounds mind boggling too?? Shit, high school teams have coaches who's main responsibility is just Special Teams! I know Coach Dews works with the WR'S now, but during RR's first coaching clinic that I attended Dews was announced as ST coach.  Nonetheless, we should have one!

Im taking Illinois

Going to put my house and my first unborn child on Illinois........That has been my gambling technique this year with michigan. Putting money on the opponent. So, I always feel good in a way on Saturdays. I do admit my Saturdays feel better when Michigan wins. The Lions were i believe minus 3 against the Redskins and I knew that was a sucker bet. My friends all took the Redskins, while I told them the Lions will win that game. According to this line, Michigan wins guys. So, we have that going for us! Keep your fingers crossed.....GO BLUE!

I Tried to bring up this idea

I Tried to bring up this idea of motioning a few weeks ago after the Iowa loss and got negged for it by a few posters. Why?? Have no idea, and I bought up how the Oregon offense used it as well and how effective it is with Jet sweeps/Fake Jet Sweeps. The thing I love about it is LB's look at that stuff and causes them to play out of position. Players tend to go with Motions and causes the defense to think more. They have more to worry about and more chaotic for them when there is moitons. I also love the the idea of motioning a back from the backfield to a receiver . Sure our offense is not bad or certainly not the problem........but to say there is no room for improvement is ludicrous. We can always get better and I think little things like this will make us tougher to cover.

I made the trip as

I made the trip as well.......I do agree with Andy the drive in there was just absolutely gorgeous. I did read somewhere that someone thought it looked like a cruish ship on the port and I totally agree! But i really dont think it was a dump. I thought the atmosphere there was one of the best I have ever been to in the big ten beside OSU. ( that was for a michigan game of course) Here is what I liked about the experience:

1. The stadium and night game atmosphere was awesome. I really enjoyed that part, cant wait till Notre Dame next year.

2. Their student section was amazing, the white out is everything people say it is. It was pretty cool to see them get going. They were all into the game, it was a late arriving group, nonetheless, they impressed me.

3. They had a much better variety of food at the conecessions, and was alottttt cheaper than what I would pay at Michigan Stadium.

4. The older crowd was awesome, minus the 2 ladies that sat to the right of me. Sorry to any woman on here, but if you dont know much about the game please just keep your mouth shut! Also, there was 2 kids behind me with their parents, they were all Michigan fans. While PSU was doing their " We are Penn State " chant , the kids got annoyed and started yelling, " We are Michigan" lol. One of the ladies got annoyed and turned around to tell them to Shut the F*** up! Really?? The kids were maybe 6 years old. I let her know that was wrong and so did the mom. The mom was more hostile, deservedly so too.

5. The woman! lol thought the girls looked good and were very friendly. They had no problem with our crew being Michigan fans. Heard someone complaining about the leggins and boot look that the girls were wearing. Yea I have to agree I hate seeing a nice ass in tight black spandex.

What I didnt like:

1. The younger punks, I can tolerate little comments, thats not a big deal. Some who would get real close or wanted to touch me, I would shove, did that a few times. Then they would come to the conclusion that neither I or the guys with me are ones to try to mess with. So scare them and they back off.

2. The rock music i was mixed about. I thought it amped up the crowd alot!! But, at the same time  im big on hearing the band play and doing your traditional game day chants. I wish the Big House would do it more often maybe before a big play, but, definitely not the way Penn State used it. It seemed like there was a song playing after every play! Also, can "Sweet Caroline" stop being played at college football games!! Please, someone end that nonsense!

3. Parking, it seemed like if u didnt have a permit( Dont know what kind of permit they wanted) you werent able to get in and park where all the good tailgating was, instead, we had to park a good distance away from the stadium for 40 dollars on a hill, where it was very hard to set up a good tailgate. Was pissed at that.

4. The "We are Penn State" chant! Veryy annoying! Im glad they know who they are.

Overall tho, I dont regret going there, I think every Michigan fan should make it out there for a game in your lifetime. I just wish we would have won. Would have made the drive home a lot easier! Well 4 big ten stadiums down , 8 more to go counting Nebraska.

leaving Sat Morning

I would have liked to leave Friday and really take in the whole experience, but, we got a huge playoff game against a cross town rival tomm night/tonight. Hopefully we can pull that win off and then i can really enjoy Denard running up and down that field saturday night. I am really looking forward to this game, since it is the first night college football game I would have attended. I'm sure I will have a great Idea of what to expect after Saturdays game when Notre Dame comes to Ann Arbor next year. Cant wait!

I was not referring to this

I was not referring to this year's Florida Offense dumbass, I am talking about the Florida team that won two national championships! Funny how you dont mention Oregon or Auburn in that response.

Yea that has always been the

Yea that has always been the case with me, the thing that got me confused was the fact that the confirmation email had the listings of will call at Crisler Arena and its times of operation. Also, the fact that I did buy them from Mgoblue.com. Who knows tho?

I would like David Brandon and Gene Smith.......

To really watch this video and for all fans of this rivalry too. It is a shame what is being talked about the last few weeks about  THE GAME being moved. As I have gotten older that day in late November has become my Christmas Day and I would be very disappointed to watch Michigan and MSU that day. My favorite part of the Video is at 4:17 and on , in which, the narrator says, "The great thing about traditions is they tend to happen around the same time of the year, giving people a sense of when it happened". ( It was along those lines)
