Sparty finally figured out that they are less likely to misspell the words if they just take something from us and modify it, rather than come up with their own stuff.
|22 hours 43 min ago||Northwestern||
Honestly, Northwestern might not be a bad pick to win the West. They will probably be solidly average on both sides of the ball.

I think they have this poll about once a month.

You can have coffee, just no cream or sugar. And no cup--you have to drink straight from the pot.

The moms should probably make this a sticky thread.
|2 days 1 hour ago||Woodson||
I was at UM from 1993-97 so I will add another vote for Woodson, with Wheatley a close #2. Braylon Edwards was another amazing talent but he wasn't as consistently dominant as those two.
|2 days 8 hours ago||Constraint Theory||
Constraint theory holds that an offense will prefer to run its base play unless an opponent "cheats" to stop the base play, in which case the offense will run a constraint play to punish the defense for cheating.
If Harbaugh is truly an adopter of constraint theory, then to be a pass-first unit would suggest that Michigan should adopt a pass as its base play. That's not the worst idea in the world. A simple hook route to Butt, a smoke pass to Darboh, or any number of short or even intermediate routes to Chesson could probably be reliably executed against straight-up coverage.
I still think Harbaugh would prefer to build his offense around Power O or some other inside running play. But I agree we're likely to remain a pass-first unit both because of the limitations of our O-line and because of the surplus experienced talent in the receiving corps. Interesting balance for Harbaugh between doing what he most prefers and adapting to the current roster.
Nice diary, dragonchild.

TCU has declared war on Ferris State.
|3 days 6 hours ago||Hurst||
Even if he gets a high draft grade, it's not certain Hurst leaves. Plenty of guys have come back with less room tk improve their stock than Hurst will have.

But then you also have to be okay with soft-ass zone coverage.
|4 days 10 hours ago||OSU & MSU||
I think Sparty is the team that's in for 4-5 losses this season. I think their offense will be okay, but not great, and their defense isn't the dominant unit from three or four years ago. OSU will still win 10+ games I think; ridiculous amount of raw talent and their offense is mych more plug & play.

|4 days 10 hours ago||OP||
Hey, be nice to the OP. Tomorrow he has to catch an early train, has to be to work at nine. And if he had an aeroplane he still couldn't make it on time.
|4 days 10 hours ago||Sunday||
If Sunday is the "penultimate" day of rest and relaxation, then you must have Monday off.
|4 days 10 hours ago||Baylor||
Although I agree with your overall position, Baylor's fourth game is against Oklahoma State. So I am not sure they can just sleepwalk to 6-0. 5-1 though maybe.
Also, there's a Northwestern State??
|4 days 10 hours ago||Ole Miss||
Hugh Freeze is not a good enough coach to win the SEC.

Do they even have a QB?
|4 days 10 hours ago||Last place vote||
They must be letting Phil Fulmer vote in the AP poll now.
|4 days 14 hours ago||MSU||
I agree 7-6 is unlikely. But it's not inconceivable. They could realistically lose to ND, Wisconsin, BYU, Michigan, Northwestern, Ohio State, and possibly IU or Penn State. They could also lose a bowl game.
I'd say three of those losses are probable (ND, M, OSU) and the more games MSU wins, the tougher their bowl opponent is likely to be.
|5 days 3 hours ago||Lavert Hill might play||
Lavert Hill might play because he's in the mix to start next year. But this year he's behind Lewis, Clark, Stribling, and probably Long, plus Washington and Watson have already redshirted. So I don't think Hill is a lock for playing time. Maybe 60/40 that he plays, IMO.
|5 days 4 hours ago||I realize that's what OSU||
I realize that's what OSU calls it, I just think it's confusing because pretty much anywhere else an h-back is going to be a bigger, heavier player who mostly blocks and catches passes out of the backfield. Seems to me that it would better to use a term that doesn't already mean something else, rather than adopt OSU's newspeak.
|5 days 4 hours ago||H-back is still not really||
H-back is still not really the best term because that is usually used to describe a fullback/TE hybrid. What about "offensive weapon" like the Jaguars used to call Denard?
|5 days 7 hours ago||2010 offense||
Actually, the 2010 offense put up decent numbers against Wisconsin (28 points, IIRC) and moved the ball against OSU but kept turning the ball over. MSU did shut them down, by forcing Denard to throw from the pocket. But still, if the defense hadn't been so awful that season I don't think we'd have so much revisionist history about the offense.
|5 days 7 hours ago||OL performance||
I hope it's true. We know what the DL can do so if the OL is outperforming them it can only mean good things. But last year wasn't there some story about Kalis saying the OL was "rolling people ten yards downfield?" So, this "practice intel" is probably not information you can rely on here.

|5 days 19 hours ago||Oklahoma has to play both||
Oklahoma has to play both Ohio State and Houston. Tough non-conference schedule for them.
|6 days 10 hours ago||,08||
The .08 legal limit should have been easy for him to remember, considering it's the same as the minimun GPA needed to play football at Nebraska.
|6 days 11 hours ago||Comparisons||
Exactly. Accomplishments can reflect ability but the two concepts are distinct and should not be conflated.
|6 days 12 hours ago||Rivals||
I don't think we should be commenting on our biggest rivals until we beat Illinois and Rutgers.
