You have got to love

You have got to love mgovideo.com.  It was perfect to go right to the point 6:15 left in the 2nd, see the play you described, and come to complete agreement with you.

EDIT: This was suppose to be a reply to Desmonlon Edwoodson comment above, but I must have hit the wrong "reply" button after logging in.

Can you help me out by

Can you help me out by explaining how this is any different than undergrads?  I thought it was well accepted that

1) Undergraduate college should also be a choice based on your professional ambitions

2) Frequently, less academically qualifiied students got into a college and earned a degree from qualitity institutions if they were star sports players.

3) There are some very good 1 year grad programs, including masters in engineering and masters in education, which often incorporate summer work.

4) There is nothing stopping the graduate student football player from continuing his education once his eligability is up for an academic program that lasts more than one year.

5) Graduate programs are generally more expensive than undergraduate, thus providing more incentive to find free tuition via a sports scholarship.

6) Some atheletes are also scholars and make their academic programs stronger by their attendance and the school/program should be allowed to choose who meets their criteria for admission.

With these realization, I'm having trouble findng fault with the grad transfer rule that does not apply to college atheletics as a whole. Thanks you.

Russell Bellomy

NIce to see a quick little release from Russel Bellomy at 1:20.

Yes, please.

I would greatly appriciate your efforts to set up a reliable, high quality stream.

Wisconsin and Alabama will play for the championship.

OSU will lose 3 bowl games.

I like youtube.

And the catch.

Excuse me if my sarcasm meter

Excuse me if my sarcasm meter is miscalibrated, but I think it's well worth the extra time typing if you are going to have many readers.  Hopefully, every post on this blog gets well read and, thus, justifies correct grammer and minimal annoying nicknames/acronyms*.  If you're not writing something that you think is worth writing properly, often you're not writing something worth writing at all.

*FWIW: I agree with the implication from previous comment that the DRob, MRob, etc. are annoying nicknames.

Hopefully whatever he does,

Hopefully whatever he does, he makes time for finding key phrases to repeat over and over for the media that make everyone fondly remember our wonderful past (e.g. Man-ball) while scheming ways of using our awesome offensive talents in new and innovative ways (e.g. Denarding up and down the field in record time and efficiency).

I wonder how Pryor's never

I wonder how Pryor's never serving his 5 game suspension affects the already settled issues.  Could this reopen things for OSU?

Congrats, Brian.  I hope my very real gift allows you to buy an overpriced coffee or medium-priced beer in celebration with a similar guilt-free abandon that I now have while taking in all of your MGoInformation and MGoHumor.

Another twist

Very nice work and I'd love to see this method become our primary metric on this site.

If you wanted to find a way of accounting for ESPN's limited rankings without just totally ignoring them, you could make your "veto-based" approach a double elimination.  For example, average the top 3 scores for any player from the 4 sites.  If any player is missing 2 scores, then they're excluded.  This would resulting in the 'universal average' being slightly above their actual average if they happened to be ranked by all four sites, but it'd be fair for all players and ranking sites.

Apologies, I'll change it tonight.

But some day I have to learn how to call dibs on a stolen photo.

This might be better still.

Darn, now I can't even put any link anywhere without triggering the spam filter.  All I can do to contribute is say that it's easily googleable.

Here's a picture of the ND

Here's a picture of the ND uniform side and back.  The striped sleeves and shamrock helmet make for a good pairing with our uniforms, IMO.

EDIT: I keep triggering the spam filter with my image linking. (Any recommendations?)  Here are the direct links:

True, but if half of these allegations are true,

True, but if half of these allegations are true, then he would have never been allowed to play again and leaving now simplifies things for him, like his obligations to the NCAA.

Take your time

Dear Recruit,

I know there is a lot of hype about your college choice and all of your possible suitors want you to commit as soon as possible.  But I'd like to cast my vote for you taking the time you need.  It's best for you, your family, and your future team if you figure things out and commit only when you're ready.  We want the best for you and hope that means you joining us in championships.  Go Blue!

Sincerely,

A Michgan Man.

Lakes and Planes.... I like it.  I change my vote to that.

Citation Needed.

Yep - count me in!

I can't organize such a thing, but I'll happily support it with a few dollars.

But we don't care about Bob

Yes, we got data about Bob.  But we have no new information on the motivation for the billboards. The people who reported the billboards were from Michigan fans may have the story right and this post doesn't address that - all it really says is Bob didn't tell them (or rather Bob told Section1 that Bob didn't tell them.)

I'd like to know the motivation for both the billboards, but I don't see this thread getting us any closer.

(And I'm suspicious of my comments helping much, besides perpetuating a pedantic discussion.)

not quite...

Cheating actually seems to be okay... and frankly, getting caught isn't that bad either. It seems like TSIO is happy to employ a coach that does both.

absence

The absence of data is not the same as data of absence.  Section 1, do you have any data, other than Bob doesn't know what's going on?

You can't be too surprised by

You can't be too surprised by this.  There are die-hard fans everywhere that are incapable of seeing fault in their own sports team/children/country.

Love the analysis

Thank you.

martini

I got introduced to martinis last night - beefeater, ice, and olives.  Pretty good, but the ratios are absolutely critical.

hilarious

I really wonder whether the NCAA is going to step up or dissolve into oblivion.... It doesn't seem like they can continue to exist as an enforcer that only gives recommendations and has no teeth.  This summer should be interesting.

The Jackass movies

The Jackass movies. They are ridiculous, but I can't stop laughing during them.

Class

These comments are seriously missing classiness.  One of the ways we know that UM is so great is that we are so respected by other institutions and individuals.  We excel in so many things and we have every right to be proud in our accomplishments.  However, these comments are totally missing the point: we are arrogant and that is not a good thing.  Being arrogant does not make you a better school.  It does not help people see our greatness and it does not advance our mission to be the best we can.

Having the credentials to be arrogant does not make it appropriate or in our own best interest.

nice signature

I'm sure you get this all the time, but I appricated your signature, DesHow21.  You inspired an extensive diversion to the Interweb for the full story of Mr. Harmon.

May the Lord be with you

Thanks, Sam.  Mr. Bolden sounds like a stand up guy - a value to both the field and the locker room.

choosing sides

I'd definitely prefer to be the Wolverine in this video than the chump whose survival depends on their choice of deodorants.

It's good to see Wolverines getting the respect they deserve.

better and worse

The defense will be very good and we will all be very pleased.  The offense will be boring yet  proficient. We will win more than expected (8), but in low scoring games.

Denard will have 20 throwing touchdowns, 5 running touchdowns, and 7 interceptions during  the season.

Devin will show he has great potential, but is still not as good as Denard during his every-other game appearance.

don't jump to conclusions

I'd be cautious telling people around here what they can and can't get worked up about.

You're the best

Thanks again, Tom.

I hope and hope

I just keep hoping that the signs of life we saw at the end of last year turn out to be the trend for good things to come.

Is there anything I can do to help a certain quarter back stay healthy?

happy happy

Welcome, Jordon!

you're missing the "a" and "commit" math

One more trivial cancelation and you get the essence of his existance.

"He is now" is what we ought to be embrassing.  Isn't this obvious?

p.s. Please tell me you never passed a math class as UM.  I remember thinking you had to know something about math in them.

I value tradition

I like the tradition of playing ND.  ND and UM have some of the strongest traditions in football and it just feels right to keep our rivalry strong.  I don't mind a disruption here and there, especially if there is a greater cause.  But I value UM traditions and playing ND is one of them.

I hope ND wins all but 2 of their games every year.  (Yeah, I root for MSU whenever their not playing UM and ND when their not playing either MI team.)

NIce post. Thanks.

NIce post.  Thanks.

7-5 + a W in a bowl.

7-5 + a W in a bowl.  At times we'll be happy.  At times we'll be sad.  But winning the bowl game confidently will make us excited for 2012.
