fine.

you win.

my only gripe?  it's about 9 hours too short.

Crawfish Monica

I'm serious.  This is the best stuff ever.  Had it at Jazzfest about 5 years ago.  Easy recipe- look it up on the google.  Is a spicy/creamy mac&cheese basically (not sure if there is any actual cheese in it).  you should be able to get crawfish tails from your local fishmonger or grocer.  If not?  subsitute shrimp or king crab, but it's just not the same without the crawfish.  Make up a big pot of this stuff or bake it in a foil pan and just spoon it into styrofoam bowls.

best.  food.  item.  ever.

Uh? You just named TWO kids that have ever played a down at the position. DL was a huge need for us this was a big miss. You're siting a current recruit in our two-deep at DE and calling that adequate depth? -1.....
Needs To get those test scores way way up to get past newu admissions. Until then, any intentions to commit are irrelevant. You're not going to see RR spending a lot of cachet points on a borderline slot. Nor should he.
powerhouse university of san diego

where he stood up against collegiate powerhouses like davidson college.

quarterback

quarterback is the lifeblood of any rodriguez team.  you're see that this year with denard.  like another poster said, on some of these cats, you're going to miss.  to make sure the numbers are right, you take one every year.  you cant end up with another threet/sheridan.

not sure about michigan games...

but they do have a new 24hour fantasy sports channel if that is your thing.  just launched a couple months ago.  one of my groomsmen, a buddy from high school, runs the channel.  truly a 'dream job' if i've ever heard of one.  if you're into fantasy sports, you should check it out.

fwiw

i didnt think your criticism was offbase.

oversigning.com

the second coolest blog on the internet after mgoblog.com.

magnus, you should read this site top-to-bottom and then reassess your opinion of saban and all his success.  aligning yourself there is sort of like being a yankees fan and then telling a pittsburgh pirates fan that their team sucks.

seriously, read it.  if you were anything but a top25 blue chip recruit, i dont think there is a shot in hell you would want to goto alabama.

even funnier the second even funnier the second time... lol.
iirc, he's already been here. iirc, he's already been here. sounds like we just need to get moms sorted out. thats up to RR and sweet ricardo.
if we fire RR, we're doomed. if we fire RR, we're doomed. will be program armageddon.
fantastic interview tom. fantastic interview tom. nice work.
why would you post that here? that is some of the dumbest shit ive ever seen and completely inappropriate.
EMU to Cuse is NOT a lateral move especially when referencing a running backs coach. they are THE running back U. congrats to tyrone.
you mean ortman? dorrestein has another year
dollar and a dream!!! mega lotto at 121mm.
no concern from anyone on the part about terrence still needing to get his SAT in order this late in the game?
bizarre proliferation of the high school GPA arms race. i went to one school where A+/A/A- in honors was 5.0/4.5/4.0. another where A+/A/A- was 4.33/4.00/3.66. whats the point? soon high schools will be giving out an 8.0 for a A+++ in special honors program that youll need to pay 20K to be in in high school. just so you can have your 8.0 GPA and be better than the neighbor's kid. what a world we live in. please dont neg me for this rant.
great post great post
stand by me... chopper. sick balls.
grey shirt potentially the biggest factor here is, who has the means to be one? would love to have all these kids on the team pronto, but if someone needs to step up, who will that be? i think the answer to that is: who can afford to be? am i wrong? whoever ponys up for the grey shirt, they'd be on the hook for their freshman tuition? for an OOS kid, isn't that about 35K? i dont know the backgrounds of most in the class, but there are quite a few that cant afford that if i had to guess. Jeremy Jackson is probably the only one I think for sure could, but with him an early enrollee, is that even possible logistically? To practice with the team during spring etc then not be on the team in the fall for a season? otherwise, the second group that would come to mind would be vinopal and ryan. they attend private schools and pay (in ryan's case) 12K/year tuition in high school. i think thats why you see vinopal's name come up for a redshirt. hopefully it doesnt come to that, but resources could be the biggest driver. some of these kids would probably take a greyshirt, but just cant afford one. its a lot of money to ask a family to put forth, especially when they have full rides offered to them by other schools.
where had you hear that? tia.
i hear you about banking ships but... thats usually the course for someone who has the time to let the players percolate. rich's back is up against the wall and he needs players on campus NOW going through development. we just dont have 3 years for next years players to get up to speed. we banked ships last year and i truly believe it hurt us. a kid like dan mason who we couldve had, had we pushed likely wouldve seen the field some this year and would be well developed to really contribute next year. 2011 looks like a solid recruiting class in terms of depth. would love to have 20+ ships in hand, but it does us no good if we're in full swing meltdown by the time we get there. rich needs players asap.
names to keep an eye on imo: sean parker rashad knight tony grimes earnest thomas jibreel black steve mehrer honorable mention (i still dont see it happening): dillon baxter i would think parker and thomas are our best chance to finish with 25. i would also add, that i would be surprised to see us sign 28. from here, i'd expect on 3 more recruits (26). if we go above that, it would be for a mehrer to greyshirt while possibly asking one or two of the existing commits to greyshirt. my only hope is that they dont bank any ships. there is a attrition stewing on this squad already imo, and we need player development to start NOW. while a grey cant practice or workout with the team, there is a lot of benefit to a greyshirt being on campus and a lot of the redshirt physical development one would normally expect will happen this way imo.
confused me more... are your 2008/2009 a hypothetical set? those dont look like familiar actual numbers. how do you see it for us now with drake/witty out?
do you know this to be accurate? or are these your assumptions? the numbers almost seem plausible- they just conflict some with whats been said lately.
but then i dont get it? what is the 28 rule then? its def a big10 rule of some sort.
thanks irish, but im still confused... so the number is 28? but what, we can only enroll 25 come aug1? what about in the scenario where we only signed 22 last year? so in the end, is it 25? or is it more?
dont get too excited... dont they usually hang around to find out who the new coach is going to be? kindof get 're-recruited' etc. if usc makes a power replacement hire, do we expect a change here? how close was he to seriously not picking usc to begin with? the early enrollee thing certainly adds a neat twist.
grimes/murphy anyone else suspect that the staff might be using hopson departure as a chance to put some distance btw uofm and the hollywood duo? we're running out of spots and we have 6 DBs on board already. we're nearly out of spots and the staff seems to be engaged with 1-2 OL, hankins, parker a couple distant LBs... with parker possibly in the fold and the ash commitment (DE/DT), maybe theyre cooling on the hollywood duo? just a hunch. its felt this way for a while with so much agressive recruiting going on with numbers avail so low. maybe the hopson departure gave the staff the window to put some distance. again, just a hunch.
this was very funny and so very true. +1 to you.
-99,564??? ive never seen anything like that before. impressive.
wow and i thought doctorsherwin had issues...
was actually just going to read tonight, but i logged in just so i could neg you...
i would start by asking your clients what they would like... zingerman's deli is first class all the way. since you'll be expensing, you shouldn't have issue with the lofty price tag for a deli sandwich. as far as deli sandwiches go though, it doesnt get any better. the best nyc delis dont hold a candle to zingermans. good, fresh, ingredients. plenty of options for kids. this is probably top-o-the-list recommend to out-of-towners classic ann arbor food fare. taste of the town is always at zingermans on game day. zingerman's roadhouse is the comfort food sit-down cousin of zingerman's deli. fresh ingredients and produce. a fun menu including 5 variations of mac and cheese. there is something for everyone here. kids no problem here whatsoever and will offer menu items theyll enjoy. cottage inn pizza. def a one-of-a-kind pizza. not the best pizza ever, but its pretty good. i would strongly suggest this over pizza house. has more of a true restaurant feel to it. this is a place the teams often bring recruits. just a general overall crowd pleaser. will have something for everyone and is def family friendly. i would stick to those with the kids. if you didnt have the kids with you, maybe you branch out to some of a2's 'finer' restaurants. some other 'safe' options where the food isnt bad, atmosphere will work- but no one will walk away impressed: good time charley's, grizzly peak, red hawk in response to some of the other threads above. do NOT goto: pancheros --- mexican fast food, think poor man's chipotle knights --- in no way shape or form is this as good as the chop house- if you custy wants a good steak, chophouse is your only option in a2. brown jug --- very a2, only problem is, the food is awful fleetwood diner --- unless your cusomter has a serious weed game and you plan on arriving to town between 4-7am. spots --- is basically a takeout place for wings and cheesesteaks pizza bobs --- unless a milkshake counts as lunch (the rest of their food is barely edible) any restaurant on main street --- just want jive with the kids.
heyward and gibson loss would be huge huge.
Wouldn't surprised me. Shouldnt surprise anyone. Still, in the end, the PAC10 teams are going to be the teams to beat for parker. strong year for that conference. i dont expect a lot of defection from the cali ranks with oregon, washington and zona picking up all the extra slack this year.
since when is kelly a great recruiter? undefeated season and he lost his best player to decommitment. he maybe winning games right now, but he is NOT known as a recruiter.
johnmick youre right and i think you bring up all the critical points. the missed free throws? there is no excuse. we're supposed to have a damn roster full of shooters. what bothers me, is i see those guys shooting their FTs and theyre half-assing it. no focus and form. beilein needs to get old school on these guys and crack the whip. agree on akunne. not sure what other people were watching, but he couldnt hang whatsoever off the dribble and his size does not lend him to being helpful on the boards. that, and he cant dribble drive finish, or at least didnt show himself as a threat. i dont see upside here. manny did some good things, but every time he draws the foul on drive, hits the two and then misses the free throw- i want to stab myself. stu needs to be benched. for a whole game. send him a message. he plays lazy and sloppy. that henderson kid on utah, now there was a determined player. if stu is shooting 20% and turning the ball over regularly, what does he bring? peedi, dont get me started. someone needs to have an intervention.
thanks Brian for stepping up and clearing the air on this issue. kind of. has anyone ever told you: you think too clearly?
HQ this post is HQ
what am i missing? i didnt read anywhere in the article where it says we can now enroll 28 by aug? nothing about signing back to last year. i think we're still stuck.
help do you have the link to TomVHs post about having spoken to mich compliance on this? i struggled to find good info on this everywhere.
Queso is a serious business... i too have had to battle a similar fire. to get you to a better place, i suggest: 1) your block of sweet velveeta. if not left in a cupboard unrefrigerated for at least 6 months, it's not 'ripe' yet. it truly is the king of chemical cheeses. 2) a can of rotel chopped green chiles. let the b10 network be your messenger of salvation. 3) a 1lb tube of spicy breakfast sausage (preferably some 'hot and spicy' variation-- jimmy dean etc, but i prefer some no-name local brand you can find in your freezer section). imperative you dont use premade patties or links. thaw, crumble and brown in a frying pan. 4) mix all three and heat in saucepan. serve with tostidos (dont settle for generic) or any preferred quality white corn chip. enjoy
Matthews owned his block. Nice job Greg.
Woolfolk's tackling... one missed tackle in overtime and all of a sudden he hasn't been tackling well all season? people are taking for granted the tackling by the defense this year. best tackling michigan defense since 2006- all units. tackling has NOT been an issue with this defense.
Iowa I think we'll have a better game plan for Iowa on offense and I expect to see a lot of the same defensive game plan with some ripples from this week. Reason we played such soft zone in the first half was imo, to funnel msu into the running game which i think we actually stepped up in vs the backs (obviously the qb scrambles being the exception. Reason QB scramble was there was our extra help on the TEs which only worked part of the time. Still, the dinky stuff for the most part wasnt there and neither were the big ones over the top. I give credit to cousins though, he hurt us in the zones with the TEs and WRs in the intermediate stuff and with his legs against our man stuff. STILL, i expect and would like to see us use the same game plan against Iowa and I think it should work. Just some more awareness from the LBs around QB scrambles would be great- not saying you need to spy, but you cant leave him 20 yards either. On offense, I don't expect to have more success running than we did this past week. Iowa on the road at night will be tough. Would like to see more draws and middle action though and less of the long developing sweeps (do they ever work?). And I would like to see us slide protection on the oline similar to what the Pats do. Seemed to do well yesterday, maybe a little better than the breakdown/rollouts. oh, and no more dropped passes/fumbles- is that a game plan? We've been good thus far, but must restress ball security on special teams this week. any big momentum changers in a road night game could spell doom. fortunately, i think iowa offense is anemic enough that we should be in this game in the fourth quarter.
Roundtree if given the choice between those two... kelvin has had a handful of drops already. not sure, but i think tay shouldve had more PT yesterday that being our first road game and all. still elusive though is that slot that catches it 5 yards up field and breaks it to the house. where is that guy? or the guy that sneaks behind the secondary for a big one. the deep threat in the middle so far has come entirely from the TE position. even on missed targets. just havent even seen many shots at all down field to the slots- the tay TD being the exception- want to see more of that.
75% our offense is light years better than theirs. the line is just wrong imo. i'll give them points for home field, but that's it. they will need a special effort on D to win this game. we just can't afford to beat ourselves like last week. i think if you play this game under regular conditions at night at iowa, this michigan team wins 3/4 times. so... 75%.
