Great news to hear, Seth.  Keep plugging away on getting the Boy better, and you know the whole MGoBlog community has your back!  Don't worry about the work, we'll all still be here when you're ready to come back!

I'm getting an error in the "chalk" cell - it is also just showing as -0.  The cell reference is to I2 which has the "Best to make your own copy" language in it.

Is it supposed to be referencing the difference between the two teams in AdjEm on the Team Data tab?

Also, for those having trouble if you make a copy from the link it is copying the 2021 tool - you have to go to File->Make a Copy to copy the 2022 tool.

I was there (my first big international soccer game) and damn, it was amazing to be there.  Electric environment all game and the game itself was just unbelievable.  I didn't really have a dog in the fight (see username) but truly one of the best sporting events I've ever attended.  The team has some work to do but you can see, they have incredible potential.  I can't wait for the next US-Mexico game.

I'm not going to profess to…

I'm not going to profess to be an expert, but I do have an Econ degree - from Michigan, no less!  In order to really have inflation I think you're going to need to see higher consumer spending levels.  In the past I think the lack of inflation has been driven by the deflationary global pressures others have pointed out along with relatively stagnant wage growth during this most recent economic expansion.  Going forward, I think it's going to be a while before consumers are really ready to go out and spend again - which is going to keep inflation in check.

I should point out as well that inflation is not a one size fits all measure.  Among other examples mentioned here, in industries like construction inflation has been excessively high for many years.  On the other hand, something like computers get cheaper and cheaper on a $/performance basis.

But economic prognostications are destined to be wrong - so who the hell knows!

Also - bug spray in Venice.  My foot got completely owned by some water bug.  It was brutal.

You'll have an amazing time…

You'll have an amazing time.  I've been to Florence and Venice recently and they are both pretty busy in the main tourist sites but it's easy to get away from the crowds.  Here are some recommendations.

Venice

- Go to San Giorgio Maggiore (sp?) - it's an island near San Marco, you can take an easy ferry ride over there and there's a bell tower with no lines and a ridiculous view

- Do the bag check for the basilica and skip the line.  It's down a side street and cost a little bit but you can literally walk right in if you do that.

- For some drinks in the evening, head to the Jewish Ghetto area.  Fondamenta dei Ormisini.  Lots of great bars right along the canal, less touristy than other areas.

- Vaporetto pass is definitely worth it.

Florence

- Piazzale Michelangelo - get some aperitivo and some vino and head up to watch the sun set over Florence.  They also sell food and drink there.  Try to get there a bit early to get a good spot.

- You need a reservation to go up in the Duomo but not in the bell tower.  You can buy a ticket and the lines were not long.  And you get views of the Duomo which is cool.  Also great views at the Palazzo Vecchio.

- We went to see David like 30 minutes before the museum closed - no lines and walked right in.  Worth a shot as I've heard lines can be insane.  At the end of the day it's a statue so only worth waiting so long...

- Not breaking any new ground here but the sandwiches at All' Antico Vinaio are to die for.

- Gelateria La Carraia was probably the best gelato I had while in Italy (or maybe tied with a place in Bologna).

Also - do you have accommodations in Venice yet?  We stayed at a great B&B there that I would highly recommend - Campiello Zen.

Wow.  Amazing series, I think I've had chills reading every segment so far.  What I wouldn't give to have my teenager self at that game.  Unbelievable.

I can't speak for the

I can't speak for the All American (the new CFB work with Mandel) but I've subscribed for a while for the Leafs and Jays content and the coverage is top notch.  A broad mix of articles on the team and prospects covering basic news as well as more in-depth analytical articles, film breakdowns, and looks at prospects.  So far it seems like the Michigan coverage is ramping up still but there have been some interesting articles about the bball assistants.

Also, it seems like my subscription is covering everything so far, but not sure if I'll need a separate one for the All American.

Second this, just finished

Second this, just finished and I haven't laughed out loud from a book this much in a long time.

Also if you enjoyed Moneyball, I'd recommend "The Only Rule is it Has to Work." Fascinating and entertaining read about trying to incorporate analytics into minor league baseball. Also "where nobody knows your name" is a great read about life in the baseball minors.

Playing devil's advocate, they dealt a slow, sheltered, one-dimensional winger.  Maybe the return is not so bad.

Ok, I'm ready to play some

Ok, I'm ready to play some football!

But seriously, you can see the difference in this team.  Think Hoke or RR's teams would have battled back to beat CU?  No chance, just no chance.  Think they would have hung in to trade blows with Wisconsin and ultimately win?  Highly doubtful.  Harbaugh's DNA is in the team and it is so awesome to watch.  We may not win every game but you know we're going to fight till the bitter end.

One Saturday we invited everyone we knew to skeeps (it was also a ghost town on Saturday) and threw a huge party there with everyone we knew. We were probably 90% of the people in the place. Good times

I think the money will be

I think the money will be easier as it is just money and not a potential inconvenience for your future boss.

Also, from a cynical point of view (having been on both sides) the person you are negotiating with is likely really fucking busy, hates hiring, and just wants it to be over. This makes it very unlikely that they pull the offer and if all its going to take to hire you is $5,000 of someone else's money, I am guessing they'd push for that.

Also definitely mention the other offers. It makes you look good and that they could lose you. It also is a subtle reinforcement of your future boss's decision to offer you (i.e., other people see a lot in this person as well).

Agreed, I usually take my shoes off as well which helps.  Also you want to make sure your monitor is at the right height so you are not looking down at it.  Last, agreed with the other commenter who said it's important to move around still, and don't be afraid to go back and forth between sitting and standing.

It really has changed my work life.  I feel so much better at the end of the day - not groggy and tired like I used to.  It's easy to not stick with it, but if you make sure to do it for a couple of weeks it will become your routine and then it's easy.

EDIT: "are not" looking down at your monitor.

Not sure you're totally

Not sure you're totally accurate on the privacy issue there.  I believe the US Government has much broader snooping powers than most in Europe.  For example, I'm pretty sure that recent laws passed in France basically gave them a lot of the powers that the NSA has had for over a decade.  I haven't tried to find any articles to support these assertions so I could be wrong, but this is certainly my understanding...

Interesting to hear that

Interesting to hear that take. I've been to a couple of games there and thought the atmosphere was pretty cool but nothing to write home about. And I have been pretty underwhelmed by the college football fans in Denver generally and definitely Boulder. I'm interested to hear what the stadium and town are like when the team is good.

I was in Boulder the night in 2007(?) when they upset Oklahoma and no one seemed to care.
