Is it though? Just because Marrone brought him to Buffalo does not in any way mean that he is a good coach.

Is there any proof that Wheatley is any good at RB coaching? He clearly didn't help Fred Jackson who was good long before Ty came along. And Spiller has been disappointing.

Want a tough one? 14-team PPR. I need to start one of: Knile Davis, T-Rich (nope), Marcel Reece, Blue. It's rough out there. I'm thinking Davis piles up the garbage time carries against the Raiders.

Thanks, agreed. Good news is I have a great team and would be pretty much tied but had some crap performances from Brees and Demaryius last week.

PPR. Need to decide between Martavis Bryant, Blount, and Moncrief at flex. Also need to make up 40 point gap from last week so looking for the big play guy. My current thinking is Bryant as the boom or bust guy.

The suck fest began in earnest in 2007 with The Horror and the blowout at the hands of Oregon.

Sadly it's not up to Lloyd, it's up to Jim Harbaugh.

I guess I'm out of the loop, but why is everyone so down on this guy? I mean, yes, probably a good chunk of his success this year was due to Dee Hart, but unless I'm wrong there is no evidence that he is a bad coach, and he very well might be a great coach. He has had success at a place that has had precious little of it recently, and saying that this is all due to Dee Hart seems like a pretty lazy assertion.
Although, I think his contract is evidence that he is a terrible negotiator. Why would you ever sign such a ridiculous contract? He must have really, really wanted to escape Saban.

I'm guessing Schlissel's language was deliberate. It's highly likely that he personally has not spoken with any candidates. But these things always happen through third parties anyway for deniability.

For starters, if someone from UM was visiting Stark Vegas to talk to Mullen, they would never be stupid enough to fly a plane with the block M to Starkville. And Mullen would never allow it.
Also, I seem to remember hearing that during the last coaching search (maybe this was in one of Bacon's books?) that Brandon was sending the UM plane to throw people off while he went around on some other plane to interview underqualifed candidates (last part is my editorial addition).
Is someone from UM meeting with someone from Mullen's possy nearby to Starkville? Can't rule that out at all.

Hamilton is my hometown. There's a lot of community and pride in that city, and I know that they will come together to support the family.
It's just so awful.. this type of thing doesn't happen in Canada.
May this punk rot in the worst hell imaginable.

For example, in one of my leagues, you could have selected Cutler, Rivers, Ingram, and Reed all after Gostkowski went. And those are some great players to get in the 13th round.
|19 weeks 7 hours ago||Your logic only holds true||
Your logic only holds true if:
- one kicker is predictably better than another over the course of the season (which seems unlikely)
- the difference between Kicker A and Kicker B is greater than the difference between FLEX A and FLEX B (where FLEX A is the player you could have selected while selecting Kicker A, and FLEX B is who you got instead). The missing point here is opportunity cost. If you had spent that extra $2 on a RB/WR/QB/etc, it might give you a greater point advantage than spending it on a kicker.
On another note, I don't know what kind of leagues you guys play in, but I find that there are very few games in mine that are within even 10-15 points, let alone 3-5.

My two rules of fantasy:
- If you draft a kicker before the last round you don't know what you're doing

The title of this post is misleading, he told the team he had seen it when he actually had not... not really a cover up or anything here. I'm not sure I understand the issue really...

If this guy is indeed someone expressing an interest in the job and/or indicating contact with Michigan and SMU by following ADs on Twitter he is literally the stupidest person in the history football (maybe hyperbole, maybe) and he is showing that he deserves to be nowhere near a spotlight program such as Michigan.

You could read that to mean that Brian thinks Morris is ahead of Gardner - is there something you want to tell us Brian?!?

What, you don't want Canada to get dominated by the US in Olympic basketball?
|38 weeks 5 days ago||I'm also from the TO area and||
I'm also from the TO area and so was thinking about this a little while back. I think we may come to see this as a temporary blip in Canada (unless the Raps really turn things around for the long-term). Most of these guys (I'm approximating) are, 20 on average. I think we can all agree that the Raptors' golden years were something like 2000-2002. That would make these guys all 6-8 when during this time, and probably deciding what sport to play the most. Therefore, I think we're seeing the fruits of that time period, and think this could be only temporary, as the Raptors basically descended into mediocrity for basically the entire time period thereafter (this season notwithstanding).

Where are those heady days of early 2014, when everything was coming up rainbows and unicorns (yes, unicorns!)? These later days 2014 have really given us all a collective punch to the collective junk. I miss you, early 2014, please come back and bring your glory with you...
|44 weeks 4 days ago||But what you're talking about||
But what you're talking about is one shift. Over the course of a whole game or whole season, those things even out. And your argument only holds if the same set of five players are out at exactly the same time every time. This is simply not the case. It's not a perfect measure by any means but when combined with other stats like competition quality and zone starts, starts to paint a broader picture.
Check out this article. Notice anything about JJ's column?

Yep it is certainly a thorough critique.
He works hard <> he is good at hockey. I think everyone is being blinded here by their collective love of Johnson.
