I doubt he flew to Maryland to wish the kid good bye.

I hope your right, but this seems unexpected.

What about the current roster.

Wasn't there speculation that Wheatley Jr. could grow into a tackle.

20-17 michigan

.

Perfect fit

For a team with discipline problems. Didn't he punch his assistant coach in Oakland.

You don't want

An overtime shootout against a team that has 2 players averaging over 8 yards per carry and your only stop of the half was a fumble where Hyde was dragging 4 guys down feild. You have a second string kicker and an injured qb. You are an extreme underdog and 3 yards away from almost certain victory. The extra point gets you into a 50-50 toss-up at best.

Can twitter just go away

I must be getting old because I just don't get it.

Whether the upraised legs tripped

Him or not it looked like that was the intent. I think it was a subtle attempt to impede the runner and it was called correctly. Besides if the runner isn't impeded he walks in to score. The trip is the only reason there was a close play.

Agreed

Last week I think I brought up moving him back and giving one of the young tackles a shot

24-20

Michigan

No one had eye popping stats

That is what happens when you go three deep at each position. Don't worry bout individual stats look at what they did as a team.

Sorry

But I hate the idea of giving a kid playing time and then redshirting him the next year. I feel like it could mess with his progression. You have the next few years to recruit the qb position get some depth in the pipeline and start sending them to the league again.

Too many people assume all these kids

Are going to have perfect careers and that they can accurately project the roster in four years. Lots of these kids could be gone or buried on the depth chart in 4 years. Their are to many variables at play if they can contribute they play and if they are a project they redshirt. I am a huge believer that their is no substitute for in game reps.

This is a no brainer

We have a ton of young kids and hoke's recruits are really pushing for playing time. Anyone who will be a serious contender for playing time next year needs game experience. I think that every single one of those kids could contend for a starting spot or at least meaningful reps nxt year. If that is the case you have to get their feet wet. I felt like their was not a huge drop off when the young kids went in. I assume that central also had there 2nd string in but I did not think these were wasted reps. Also gedeon seemed to be in on a lot of plays and is large.

Msu

Desperately needed to go down field to open things up early and get amu on their heels. They refused to do that and I don't think it was being conservative. If you don't have a deep threat teams can load up. Also I do not care how good their defense is if the offense is a 3 and out machine your defense is gonna wear down throughout the season and throughout games. It helped them that western couldn't get a first down either

Devin could put together a year

And end up in the draft I would rather have Shane get some reps in this year.

Play him whenever the game is in hand.

A) he is the backup and he needs the experience. B) I don't want to see Gardner get hurt late in a game because you are trying to save shane's redshirt. If Brian corset is the backup they will wait until their are 2 minutes left in the game to bring in the back up. If Morris burns his redshirt you could try to bring him in a little earlier so he could throw the ball a bit.

People get way to hung up on star ratings

Green will be fine when you get on campus you throw the ratings out the window. People want certain people to play because of their star rating as opposed to letting the coaches assess an open competition and select the best player. I think smith has looked great and seems to play with a chip on his shoulder.

I agree

But I think gallon has proven to be a threat down the field and idle runs pretty good routes I mean he always seems to find a hole in the d. That gives us 2 that can meet 2 out of the 3 categories.

This reminds me of Malik mcdowell

He plays in a small division and scrimmaged my old school a couple years ago. We are lucky if all five guys on our o line are over 200 pounds. Both these players have amazing measurables but I wonder if they will take a little longer to develop and get used to the college speed. McDowell made the move to a bigger school this year so that should help.

Wow

Green had one run which got blown up 2 yards deep in the backfield and everyone is saying he is too heavy and calling for a redshift. We need real football to get here.

Yup!

Yup!

If grandma had nuts

She would be grandpa. Hooray for hypothetical responses

You also

Can't destroy a kid committing a harmless and minor crime. That's like a store clerk beating you with a bat for shoplifting a candy bar and saying it's justified. The punishment needs to fit the crime. All that being said this is funny as shit.

I remember watching that game

And all I could think about was how all that talent could be so under used for so long. Great game, but a little frustrating to watch when your very talented team lost a few games to inferior opponents.

I think they need to focus on the steroids

And growth hormones. I think the vast majority of these injuries would be much less devastating if the players were not borderline superhuman. Look at how the size, weight, and speed has improved the last couple of generations. These guys can get huge with all this new weight training without the Peds. It has to feel like your getting hit by a wrecking ball when you get tackled. This is less about concussions and geared more towards injuries in general.

Zero tolerance

Is not always a good thing, if the person seems remorseful you have to take into account what effect losing an athletic scholarship can make on these kids life. Some kids are lost causes some kids just make poor decisions. Getting rid of a good kid who may have no future if he doesn't complete college negatively effects the rest of his life. It is a tough call and should be handled on a case by case basis.

Before we criticize

This is pretty much identical to hoke's redshift a player in trouble and see if he can toe the line for a year. Which I really like, i feel like it makes the player spend a year earning the second chance. Second chances are a great thing, but not deserved or owed to anyone. Also when he let stonum go it showed that it was not just an empty threat or a punishment that was just for show.

I went to the Clemson vs CMU

Football game about 5 years ago. We took a motor home down their because my buddies were graduating from CMU that year. Clemson is a beautiful place tons of fun and the people were great. I can absolutely see how someone could fall in love with the place. It is also a lot closer to home for him which I believe would have to weigh into your decision to some extent.

That's right

Muller

Urban is a good recruiter

I doubt he is gonna take a kid that has no chance of being a contributer 6 months before signing day.

If someone tells me what he said

I will mail you a dollar. I would assume that it is something they have blown out of proportion to get me to spend money and be completely let down.

Yep

Go troll rcmb with that shit.

3rd fathers day

Number 2 is en route and will be here in September. Quiet Sunday at home and both grandparents coming over for pizza tonight. Gotta keep it simple sometimes.

Huh

Didn't take you long to eff that up

Congrats

You made a comment without getting downforce.... Good for you

Agreed

Michigans o line will be a lot better by the time they get to the meat and potatoes of their schedule. I think the youth will disappear with every start and the talent upgrade will start to show. I think that nd game will be huge, it's early in the year and their d- line is tough. Get through that and could surprise a lot of people. I also do not get all the sparty love their off. Is gonna be awful.

Did you just ask why go after stud qb's

I would assume because no one goes out and tries to acquire a shit qb just to fill a roster spot.

Thank you

I understand taking the high road, but I refuse to believe they were the better team. If they were that muc better than us that officiating should have made it a blow out.

Burke's block

And the goaltending seemed like pretty easy calls to me that were missed terribly. Change them two calls and it's a tie at the one minute mark in a game where I would still say the refs favored UL. I don't get upset on close calls but at that level I though them two calls were pretty obvious. Proud of how the team handled it hopefully we don't have to wait twenty more years for another shot.

Just play belushi's

Pep talk from animal house.

Perspective

Adidas will be donating that money to young children in a third world country........the donation will be in the form of meager wages.

I

Think gr3 is the only real threat after Burke.

Yep

Don't get farther than a block away from the stadium, but if your from around their you are probably pretty aware of that.

Don't know where you are

at, but my wife used to work in the NICU at sparrow in Lansing. They do amazing things and sounds like they have a pretty high success rate. We are currently having our second and my wife has been on bed rest for a couple months. First due to hyperamesis (severe nausea) and now due to a miscarriage scare. The baby is doing fine and we hope my wife can get back to work soon, but it has been a long couple months and money is tight. A month ago while she was getting her daily fluids at the infusion center we could hear the people in the room next to us. Their young son was in there because of his cancer treatments and it really put things into perspective for me. Be strong, positive and keep grinding thats what your family needs right now. I pray for that little boy every night and I don't even know his name, but it has truly made me thankful for what I have. Hope everything keeps getting better for you and Go Blue.

I like it

But your title sucks be confident post hard or go home.

I think the physical play

of the top notch teams in the big ten was the thing that took grIII out of his game. I think when you have refs that actually call fouls it benefits guys who are athletic, but not big bodied. I am all for not calling ticky tack fouls and letting the kids play, but their is a fine line and pretty much every big ten game I watched took it to far. The only way you could even get a foul called in the paint was either a block or a charge. Everything else pretty much went uncalled.

I apologize for the rant.

Name a building after him.

He brought our defense back and when he got here they were DOA.

It would be nice if jinny beat Florida,

But I honestly do NOT want to play Minnesota. They know us far to well and should not be looked at as an 11 seed, but as a talented team that has underachieved and knows our tendencies.

At the time I thought the call could go either way.

After reading the rule I think we got screwed. It blatantly says a push to prevent a breakaway and before gr111 got hacked on the shoulder he was clearly shoved on a breakaway. Oh well shit happens.
