2016 TE/DE offer Isaac Nauta visiting this weekend
Driving 23 hours in the next three days. Florida State then Michigan.
I asked him if he is just coming up to the state or visiting and he said it is a visit.
What were you doing as a HS freshman?
Article from when he was offered-
Isaac Nauta is a 6-4, 240-pound ninth grader out of Buford, Georgia who plays both tight end and defensive end.
Nauta recently received his 4th BCS offer yesterday from the University of Michigan, becoming the first freshman to do so. “It’s really humbling and it really is an honor to be shown interest from a school like Michigan this early in the game,” says Nauta.
Although Nauta plays tight end and defensive end, he says he wants to be a tight end on the next level. ”I’ll head to Georgia, then up to Tennessee and I’ll try to go up to Clemson soon,” Nauta said. “I also will seriously consider attending Michigan.”
2016? So he probably won't be seeing the field here for another five or six years? Recruiting is getting crazy.
More like 3. If he's good enough to have the offers he does as a freshman, he will be an instant-impact player wherever he goes
Hopefully we'll have enough depth that he'll get 2-3 years in the system before having to start and be a stud when he does.

You made a comment without getting downforce.... Good for you
Must have some interest to want to drive up here 23 hours for a visit when he is only a freshman.
He's driving up so he can get the awesome feeling of gettingaccosted at Blimpy burger the first time he orders.
He has an offer already?
You asked him?
@inauta24 You're visiting the University of Michigan or just coming up?
@one_omegaMale visiting and coming up
You tweet a Freshman in HS? *shakes head*
I am probably one of the closest to his age on this site.
Despite the facade I have displayed on here once in awhile.
You've been a member of this site for like 4 years, Nauta is probably 15, I find it hard to believe you joined this site at age 11.
Where did I say I was younger than him or the same age?
"I am probably one of the closest to his age on this site."
There are thousands and thousands of people on this site. What I take from that statement, is that you're of the same age or within a year or two.
19. I'd say 19 is pretty close to 15.
"I'd say 19 is pretty close to 15"
Tell that to the Judge when you are caught with a 15 yr old girl.
Calm down, Federov. The past is the past...
The thing is, is that he doesn't know how old you are. I get it man, you're excited, but two years ago you could have babysat him. These kids are really young. Wait til they get to college.
you looking to get in to the recruiting game a la TomVH and Tremendous? Or just a devoted fan looking to consume as much information regarding Michigan as humanly possible?
His name is Wolverine Devotee.
Recruiting would be cool but I don't even know where I would start.
The second suggestion is 100% true though.
Didn't take you long to eff that up
I think he's more DE than TE.
To say a kid is more of a DE than a TE at this state in his career is a bit premature. That kid may grown into an OT by the time he hits a college campus.
I agree, DE.
He doesn't look extremely comfortable catching the ball and is a bit awkward running in space. Much better small area speed and higher potential at DE. If he keeps growing a couple inches and keeps adding weight, he could potentially be a good OT prospect as well.
As a high school freshman, if you're 6'4, 240 you will not be playing tight end in college. You will be playing guard. And center. At the same time.
We have good family friends who have freshman son getting recruited by Michigan. He's 6'3" 315 right now and looks lean. His name is Pete Christiansen and he goes to Crespi. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get an offer, plus his dad wants him to go to M.
We're counting on you, WolvinLA2. He'll be our first 400 lb lineman :)
Yeah, obviously that's not going to happen, but Pete is as wide a kid as I've ever seen and could be one of those guards who carries 325+ no problem. He was 280 as an 8th grader, which is why he was recruited by every catholic school in LA.
2016...yikes
Have we ever had a 315 lb tight end?
AJ Williams is close, but he's still moving to tackle according to some people who haven't noticed our OL recruiting the last three years.
Despite that I think we could actually use the help at tackle.
OP quote is a bit confusing. Does it mean this is the first time UofM has offered a freshman, or he is the first class of 2016 kid UofM has offered?
I think the answer is neither. It's not even the first freshman offer within the last month.
If I remember correctly he means both. First freshman to receive a Michigan offer and first class of 2016.
My bad. I thought Erik Swenson was the first offered. He's first on my wish list if that means anything....
Nauta was the first 2016 kid UM offered
