of 20k per month for established starter level players.  He's probably not considered at that level, so I doubt he's into a six figure contract, but it should be a decent living and chance to keep playing and try to get the the NBA.

Italian Serie A is probably the second best league in Europe (after Spain's top league).  Guys like Gallinari, Ginobili, Datome and others fed into the NBA from there.  Also, it's where Mike Dantoni played and coached.

Best of luck to him! Even if he does not make the NBA, he gets to continue playing, he's getting paid for it (I assume he's still making a decent chunk of change), and he gets to see the world in the process. 

I just came back from Italy a month ago, and it is a truly special place.

I've always wondered why guys don't head straight to Italy or Greece...screw playing in Denmark or some random country that looks like Game of Thrones.

If I can't play in the NBA, it's about quality of life...take me STRAIGHT to Italy.
