YouTubeTV announcement:

"Hi there,

We recently announced that FOX Regional Sports Networks would no longer be available on YouTube TV. We have since come to an agreement with Sinclair that will allow us to continue to carry FOX Regional Sports Networks in select areas.

Your access will not be impacted as previously communicated. You will be able to continue to watch live, on demand, or recorded content from your local FOX Regional Sports Network.

Thanks for your patience,
The YouTube TV team"

What about playing the best players you have when the players around them are much better and they’re playing for something meaningful?
I’d personally rather pay for tickets now to watch a bad team and then pay for playoff tickets in a couple years than pay for discounted tickets now to watch a slightly less bad team and no playoff appearance game in a couple years.

There isn't anymore.

... and I say that as a cord-cutter.

The problem is the media companies (mostly through lobbying and lying their asses off to the government) have found a way to coalesce the source.  So sat, cable, internet, mobile, whatever... all these places have to get their content from the same place.

A current client of the firm I work for is one of these companies and I'm learning just how evil these providers truly are.  Which is also why I have zero problem going to reddit for live streams.  Do two wrongs make a right?  No.  But I sleep just fine at night being in violation of the license agreements.

One big difference. I can cancel YouTube TV anytime I want, and do, with no problems. No hookup fee, no equipment, no hassles. That's worth it to me, even if I was paying near the same price, which I'm not.

In fact, I'd have Hulu still, I mean it's only 6 bucks and it's the off-season, but last time I cancelled them, the "cancel" button online wouldn't work and I had to call. Nope, not going through that 20th century BS.

yipee.

I was most pleasantly surprised when youtube tv picked up the Discovery Channel among others a few years ago. It's been a great decision to cut the cord and go with this provider.

In other cord cutting news, I ran the numbers on at&t's new "cord cutting" service that requires a box on each tv.  It would cost $130/month over two years to match what I get with hulu live.

"Select Areas" So Cal getting the shaft.  Fortunately, I guess, the Kings suck this year so I should be looking for better things to do anyway.

YouTube tv is a great option for folks that have access to high speed internet, but the ISP doesn't offer cable tv. So if you want TV in those areas (outside Petoskey several miles), it's dish, DirecTV or a streaming service. The streaming services are significantly cheaper, which makes it a better choice for those people.

I had those fuckers for 7 years. then when I cancelled my subscription they told me that i had to pay a cancelling fee.

Years ago they reached out to me to tell me that I had to get an upgraded HD box, which would be no extra charge. So they sent the new box and I sent back the old one, easy as that. But apparently when that happened it reset my contract with them back to 0 so when i moved like 10 months later and needed to cancel they charged me for an "early cancellation fee" as if I was only with them for 10 months insted the 7 years.

Fuck them, I'll never use them ever again.
