Your favorite Spartans

Submitted by GoBlogSparty on

As a long-time lurker, occassional poster, I thought I would offer some friendly banter during hate week. I know from various comments on here which of my fellow Spartan brethren you collectively despise.

Out of curiosity, who among the Spartan community does MGoBlog collectively admire or respect (if any)?

I'll start it off and will admit that I did like watching Trey Burke (except when he played us), Biakabutuka and the A-Train, and also Jeremy Gallon for his accomplishments. Also, it's really hard to hate or disrespect Beilein.

This might be a disaster, but what the hell. Who are your favorite Spartans (if any)?

(Cue the "the guy always hooks me up with extra fries at McDonald's...durrr" posts)

Hopefully we all represent ourselves on the interwebs, given most of us do it anonymously, in similar fashion.

And... Scott Skiles.  I'm older than most here and watched him play in high school.  He was an incredible baller.  Leading the NBA in assists, steals, (and arrests) in one season is quite the feat.  Wish he'd stayed off the powder.

Football - probably Percy Snow.  Watching a great LB, the instincts and impact, are definitely among my favorite parts of football.  He was fun to watch.

Lorenzo White. My mom was a student at MSU when I was 6, and she tutored Lorenzo. He was always super nice, and even came to my elementary school fair for photos and autographs. I can't think of any others . . .

I always enjoyed watching him play.  Dude was PHYSICAL on every run and it's why he is one of the top RB's in the NFL today.

De'Veon Smith is our stud pain deliverer.  If he can stay healthy this season, Michigan can really do something special here.

Always loved Magic in college and pro. Who couldn't? Gibby, but only after he was with the Tigers and Dodgers. That series walk off HR was epic. Dantonio, seriously what he's done in EL is amazing. He's better than Saban because Saban couldn't win in EL. Give him his due.

Loved watching him play at Harrison despite rivalries. Was great at MSU running an early-ish spread offense. Took being drafted by the Lions like a man, and is involved in every volunteer thing still.

Also he works for one of our sponsors now.
