WTKA - Recruiting Round-up (Day, Pipkens)
The podcast will be up shortly, apparently they're working again. Hopefully this increases their page views, not trying to lift content. I use TuneIn radio to get their broadcast.

Day: Sam doesn't believe we've dropped for him, but Day is extending his timeline for a decision. He's been in for multiple visits to M, his brother is a big M fan, and the parents seemed impressed on their trip here. Day doesn't do many interviews, so people are getting the impression we're slipping. Webb still believes we're in decent position.
Pipkens: He's a beast and dominated the Nike camp. In better shape than he was in the winter, which was a concern. Can be a 5* dominating force if he keeps improving his conditioning. He's also talking about moving his timeline out, but M still in good position.
It keeps me on the edge that our prospects for our biggest position of need (DT) all have a while before they will make a decision. We are in on some big time DTs (Jarron Jones, Aziz Shittu, Sheldon Day, Ondre Pipkins to name a few) but it seems like they all are taking their time with their decision. Not that I fault them, but it will be interesting how it plays out since we will have to wait a while to fill our DT void.
It means you should find something else to occupy your time until National Signing Day.
what else is going to happen in the next 8 months around here?
An entire regular season of college football?
i just want to sign them up! who cares what happens after that. are you implying that out-recruiting a rival is not the goal here?
/s
Probably not. Haven't you heard that the end of the world is October 21?

FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU I've been there.
did you copy that off of a yahoo article?
i saw that same comment on any article about that crazy preacher dude today
the world ended last week? Or was it January 1st 2000 at 00:00....I can't keep this crap straight.
Jg2112 likes to comment in a lot of recruiting threads that we should all care less about recruiting.
At least hes somewhat on topic.
I can't count how many times I see him post in recruiting threads about how we shouldn't care so much about recruiting....The irony. I wish my -1 redundant actually meant something.
That's like going to the same bar every night and complaining that they serve booze.
A terrible idea
opening recruiting threads if you are not interested.
Probably part of the reason they are all taking their time is BECAUSE they're all big time recruits. The 3 stars of the world have to secure their spot early if they want to get in at an elite program. These guys have the luxury of checking everything out because they know schools will make room for them. Plus they have so many more quality schools on their offer sheet. It makes sense that the big time recruits take their time (unless their name rhymes with Dane Horris).
It's worth repeating that none of these kids can receive an official scholarship offer until August 1, which is more than two months away. So while Michigan has obviously got a lot of commits right now, if I were a kid with lots of big offers, I wouldn't be in a hurry to make a pledge.
As you've seen with the kids at other positions (DE, LB, DB), once spots start to dwindle, these kids will make up their minds quicker and quicker.
Look no further than Ron Thompson...too little too late possibly. Biggs committed because spots were drying up at LB. So you are spot on. Right now the DL and OL still have a few spots open.
Pipkins has quickly become the one recruit who would excite me the most. It'll be interesting to see how his showing in Ohio affects his rankings.
ESPN's erased all the rankings they had up previously, so they're likely getting ready to load new ones. But as of 5/11, he was pretty far down their list of DT's.

It'll be interesting to see how much the ESPN rankings change from earlier this month.
Before I knew who Pipkins was, I saw him on the camp highlight film when I was looking for Danny O'Brien. I immediately looked him up, because he seemed like an absolute monster - not as quick as O'Brien, but far, far bigger.
If conditioning is the problem, and he gets that straightened out, he should rocket up the charts in the minds of the recruiting sites.
Considering that Pipkins has been offered by Michigan and Alabama, any analyst who's downgrading him because of alleged conditioning shortcomings has his head lodged in dark, dirty, smelly place.
I was looking for it a while back and I couldn't find it. I'm assuming you're referring to the Best of the Midwest combine?
Yeah, I think that was it. This was at least a couple of months ago, though - it used to be a link from Danny O'Brien's Rivals page that took you to a free video.
It might have been posted here a couple of times with reference to O'Brien. From what I recall, Jordan Diamond was in there too.
Scout came out with an article today about Pittman saying that he has decided on his first two official visits: OSU and Michigan. Wonderful news.
Thank you for the Tune In radio tip. Since WTKA updated their website I have not been able to stream at work from their site. Tune In worked. Thanks and my office production will suffer before 9am again now
