WTKA MGoBlog Round Table

Submitted by Shop Smart Sho… on

The round table is back, but unfortunately WTKA's website would run better if it was hosted on geocities.

After refreshing and clicking around for 10 minutes I finally got the podcast page to completely load instead of wanting me to click over to audioboom, which for some reason doesn't have a listing for The Michigan Insider. But after listening to the first two segments I discovered that the 3rd segment hasn't been loaded.

Anyone else have better luck than me getting access to the show have a suggestion?

WTKA switched to OMNYStudio from Audioboom back in March.  If you're being asked to log in to Audioboom, you're on the old page.  The URLs look the same but have different dates. Try both of these:

Old: http://www.wtka.com/2012/09/06/podcasts/

New: http://www.wtka.com/2018/03/28/wtka-podcasts/

I opened the new link on two different browsers.  I should work.

Listen via podcast, not via website. I use the native Podcasts app on the iphone. I've heard there are other podcast apps that you can use too.

Protip: listen on 1.5x speed and use the +15 button to skip the commercials. You will not go back

Had an opportunity to be in my car for the entire thing. It was pretty interesting. Craig gave it about a 60% chance Urban is gone. Brian went into more detail as to why he believes Urban will still be their coach, though he sounded less certain than his initial piece yesterday. Ed contributed his usual amount of valuable input (none).

Craig did tell an interesting story about how he was informed that a player under Lloyd was in trouble for domestic assault. He went to Lloyd's office and told him about it, and Lloud immediately suspended the player until it was resolved. Very interesting contrast to OSU and Meyer.

The worst thing Lloyd could ever be accused of is being a grouchy old man.

I met him at the run tough for Chad Tough 5k a couple of years back. I walked up to him and shook his hand and said, "it's great to meet you coach. I grew up in the '90's and you are a big reason that I fell in love with Michigan football." He looked at me with a blank expression and, without saying a word, looked away at my dad, and pointed to my boys and said, "so are these your grandsons?" LOL. I think I annoyed him by talking about football. Anyway, the point is, he is the walking embodiment of a coach who knows that there's more to life than football. He's definitely a great human being.

He was a grumpy f’er. That’s the kind of guy you want coaching your kid tho. Black n white. No nonsense. High character. Winning is a huge part of it at a place like Michigan...but days like yesterday do a good job or reminding people why it’s not the only thing that matters.

I haven't been able to reliably listen to WTKA podcasts on their website or a handful of other podcast sites for awhile now.  I hope they are aware of this and get it fixed but I am not motivated enough to say anything to them directly.  Easier to just mention it here and hope.  So many battles to fight in life...

I listen to it through the regular podcast app on my iPhone ("Michigan Insider"). The normally post it within a few hours of airing on the radio. It is great to have the round table back–makes it feel like the season is right around the corner.

Today the panel talked at length about the Urban situation, and I don't understand how they (especially Craig) can be so certain that Meyer knew. Is it that hard to believe that Meyer's wife would keep it a secret? They were talking like no one ever kept a secret from their spouse.
