The worst part of all this is...

At least until last year, even if we crapped all over the football field, I could always look forward to the basketball season with Beilein at the helm. I could always rely on a fun NCAA run. It was really nice having that safety blanket.

Now that is not even an option. What the heck am I supposed to do now? I am Jets/Knicks fan (grew up in Long Island) so professional sports is not going to do anything.

How is Gears of War 5? Is new Call of Duty going to be any good?

Lol yeah ok guy. People weren’t going into seasons thinking that until after the plane crash B1G Tournament run.

Revisionist history.

No, I didn't miss any of that. You are greatly exaggerating how different it was a pre-plane crash. It doesn't matter if people were expecting Final Four runs or not. Basketball has been more enjoyable than football for a while. And regardless of the expectations, there was a sense of trust that Beilein would have the team at a certain level.

Hopefully the NCAA will let us start allowing players to profit from their likeness soon and it will help idk.

This post obviously blows, but the new Call of Duty Beta was open during the weekend and it was a lot of fun. I had gotten away from the series because it got a little too futuristic and crazy, but this game goes back to the roots a bit and played really well.

Hey, we dont know how Howard is going to be at head coach. It will be fun watching how the team develops. We got some guys back so its no stretch to say they will middle to upper level big10 team. Chin up dude, football is important to me too but In have other things in my life to worry about, oh and the surge 2 comes out this week, im looking forward to that one.

For some reason I'm not worried about basketball. I probably should be more concerned than I am, but time will tell. That team is loaded with guys who have won a lot of basketball games, who have played for a national title, and who just flat-out know how to win. Howard may not have been a HC yet, but he's spent a lot of time as an assistant coach for one of the most stable, successful organizations of the last decade. Learned a lot from a great coach in Erik Spoelstra, and a legend in Pat Riley.

Does that mean he's automatically going to be a great HC? No, it doesn't. But word around the league is that he was one of the better assistants out there and was a guy who knew what he was doing. I do think this season will have its bumps and bruises, but if Howard can hit his perceived ceiling as a coach, he can do some truly great things here.

Agree, Michigan sports, for a UofM fan, is basically dead. Aside from M basketball, which is a big question mark.

Looking forward to a Wings team that won't be one of the five worst. And a Pistons team that might win some games and sneak in to a 7 or 8 seed.

Ugh, that's the best we have.

Gears of War 5 is pretty solid. Just finished up the main campaign playing co-op with a buddy this past weekend. After watching the first half of the game it was nice to just chainsaw some aliens. Normally my Saturdays are for CFB but I just couldn't get into it and spent more time playing video games.

Disagree. The worst part is I’m wasting time posting here again and wasting even more time trying to find my posts on the shit mobile site to see if anyone replied.

I think the worst part is that our troubles are again creating dissension and open carping in the alumni player base. It's like watching your mom and dad fight.

The worst part of all of this is that over the last 20 years Wisconsin has become the program Michigan should be, except we would have better players everywhere other than RB where Wisconsin has always managed to be elite.

Wisconsin reminds me of our teams under Bo and Mo, except we had way better talent at D, QB and receivers.  Thus why Wisconsin loses to OSU every time, but we likely would compete.

Twice now we are falling prey to "if you can't beat them, try to join them" to our detriment.  First back in 2007 after App St./Oregon, we decided to go full spread under mediocre hc RR and disaster.

Now after the OSU debacle last year, Harbaugh is trying to join the RPO train with mediocre oc Gattis. Disaster.

I'ts OK man, I'm a LI boy and I'm in the same boat. The Jets AND Giants suck and the Mets probably won't pull out a miracle to make the playoffs and the Knicks will remain the most frustrating franchise in sports while also having prohibitive ticket prices.  But, Michigan football could also turn it around too. I mean, it looks like they won't and everything is on fire, but you never know with college teams sometimes.

Plus, all that doesn't mean M hoops is going to struggle. It could be an interesting year. I have confidence in the core and Juwan and the new guys. Have some faith, brother.

With all that being said - the Rugby World Cup and premiere league soccer are excellent viewing and are very entertaining. I recommend. I've already watched more RWC than NFL this year and I'm very pleased (I watched Jets-Browns, an NFL product so bad I have no plans to watch another one for God knows how long).
