Woodson for MVP
I just came across this article that I thought I would share. How sweet would it be for Woodson to be the only defensive player to have both an MVP and a Heisman?!

I think it would be cool if Suh won heisman too! Defensive players winning MVP and Heisman!

I selfishly don't want Suh to win the Heisman so that Chuck can say he was the only (primarily) defensive player to do so.

I said the exact same thing in the "OT: Ndamukong Suh for Heisman" diary and didn't get a single up vote - must be a different crowd that reads the diaries ;)
Obviously, I agree with you. Maybe Suh's the best but my love for Michigan trumps my love for the rest of College Football.

I agree. While I think Suh has been dominant at times, he doesn't have that "moment" like Woodson had that sticks with voters - he actually had two (the one-handed INT vs. MSU and the punt return vs. OSU). Plus, after the crap this team has gone through the last few years, let UM faithful have at least this.

Tennessee would explode and we would lose that great state.

Woodson for Defensive Player of the Year

Do people think that Woodson's career is Hall of Fame caliber? I'm not positive, but a Defensive Player of the Year award might do it.

He started out great in Oakland but his last few years there were very disappointing. His career renaissance in GB is helping his case for sure.

100%. No question about it really.

Beating Manning has happened before!

I agree. But I think Mr. Brees has that one locked up

I remember that in 1997 during my senior year, people said that Manning had the Heisman locked up because a quarterback putting up amazing numbers on a successful team always beats out a defensive player. Yeah, well my yearbook has an entry for a faceless student named "Charlie Heisman."

player to win MVP - I think last time that happened was Lawrence Taylor.
It will be even tougher than usual with 2 QBs leading perfect teams and Favre having a media slurping season.

But holy crap, it would be awesome.
