Women's Hoops Big Ten Semifinal vs. Maryland
Michigan's playing Maryland in one of the two semifinals in the women's tournament in Indianapolis. Pretty good game through a quarter, we're down 2.
Maryland is the #1 seed. We're the #4. We should be safe to get into the tournament, but a win would help get us out of the 8/9 game where you're screwed in the second round with how dominant the elite programs are in women's basketball.
KBA broke out a 1-2-2 press and it really messed up Maryland. Michigan up 3 at the half, 40-37.
40 pts is pretty impressive!
Oh also, we have 9 offensive rebounds, which has helped.
During halftime if you’re interested, Aubrey Dawkins has 36 points for UCF on ESPN2 down 5 with the ball and 18.7 left.
Wow - looks like the refs want Maryland to win this game. Some bad calls in the 2nd half.
Also, the Women's team needs a defensive guru as well. A lot of missed switches and bad closeouts on threes.
Good work by Maryland's coach on breaking the press during half.
Defense really struggled once Maryland figured out how to break the press. Going to need a really strong fourth to win this.

Not only for calling a foul there...but THAT foul? There was no contact initiated by any Wolverine. MD set a hard screen, sealed the defender and pulled her away from the Terp. Very weak call in that situation.

2 times in last few mins they tried to bounce pass it to Thome in traffic. Horrible execution but at least they should be ready for the dance now.

Nice action drawn up to get a good look, but Thome can't make a tough catch on a bounce pass. Terps are dominant in women's hoops and we played right with them and took a serious punch. Defense in the fourth was really good.

So probably an 8 and get to travel to one of the #1s, hopefully win the 8/9 game and then well... it's ND/UConn/Baylor/Louisville.
I remember Baylor annihilating us last year.
