Women's basketball defeats KSU 84-54
Hillmon 8-10 with 17 points.
Next game will be against one seed Louisville.
Nice!! Go Blue!!!
Congrats!
Rough day for K State basketball
Now let's see if the ladies from UL can pull themselves from ChipNDales long enough to play 4 qtrs.
GO BLUE
Question for those who follow this more closely than I: why do they run the women's tournament at the same time as the men's? It guarantees low audience numbers. Why not move it earlier? Has that ever been discussed? It would seem to allow for greater numbers watching the games.
I would guess Title Nine but I can't find anything confirming that
You can't make it earlier otherwise we'll be playing games in early October.
The first day of the NCAA WBB Tournament was today whereas the men's first round began yesterday.
The WBB Final Four is a Friday-Sunday while the MBB Final Four is Saturday-Monday.
Way to go ladies!
Go blue!
We kicked the absolute shit out of K-State.
This game was nearing a 40 point lead at one point. By far our largest NCAA Tournament win ever.
Hallie Thome only had 8 points but she really didn't need to have more. The youth movement ruled this one and it's SO encouraging for next year.
Hot damn! Let's go ladies! Go Blue!
All this success in winter and spring sports has filled in the void for football. We couldn’t really say this 10 years ago

Nicole Munger became the 28th woman to reach 1000 pts. Team shot .556 from two and .385 from three. They're going to need some hot shooting in the next game.

I'm still disappointed this team got stuck in an 8-9 game again. With their year and finish, they deserved to not have to face a 1 seed in round 2.
Great statement win.
Problem with women's bball is the disparity between the top teams and the rest. We're you aware that no 1, 2, or 3 seed has ever lost a first round game in the tourney? Playing Louisville on their home floor will get ugly, but shouldn't diminish our team's forward progress.

It's nuts that Michigan's 30-pt margin was far from the biggest margin in the first round games.
