Wolverine (FB player) sighting - LaMarr Woodley

Submitted by tedheadfred on
Just jumped on a flight home and was walking down the aisle when I saw LaMarr Woodley. Said a quick hello and enjoyed watching him play. Was very gracious and well spoken (no surprise).
Update: didn't get to speak w LaMarr after. Do appreciate the comments and wanted to clarify one point - LaMarr was extremely personable to me (which is what I was intending to convey). He interacted with a big smile, and asked if I lived where we were flying. When meeting a success (in so many aspects) like LaMarr, words can fail you as they did me in this instance. A classy individual.

Let people speak unless you know their intentions are bad. I have somehow managed to get through 63 years of life, a war, raising a wonderful son, have spent countless hours working with our youth, based on both love of sport and because there were those there for me when I was growing up as a member of a struggling family. If the intent is good, that is all that matters. You will be finished with his post far more quickly than he will with a transformation of speech pattern. If you wish to consider well-spoken as in insult instead of surprisingly well spoken which  has a different meaning all together, that is your decision and your's alone. Be offended if it makes you happy because you will never run out of fucking material.

I have to ask you to please, please refrain from sharing your bizarre conviction that "well-spoken" is an insulting term, no matter how many of the people in your head tell you it is.  Most people are not, in fact, well-spoken.  There is no "race" element to it; it is a matter of personality and paying attention.

Several years ago I saw him at a bar in our hometown once (Saginaw) and said hi to him and remember to this day being impressed with how friendly he was. He and i talked for a couple minutes and a buddy who played at a rival high school of his must have talked for ten minutes. Very laid back and friendly guy.
