I know today is Festivus, but I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet.  Many happy returns to our coach!!

Well, for the next 7 months or so, we're the same age. Glad to have been in school for my final semester (Fall 1985) when an unranked (to start the season) UM team finished #2 with wins over ND, MSU, Ohio, and Nebraska in the Fiesta. JH wasn't thought of that highly going into the season after playing so-so the 1st half of 1984 season before breaking his arm.

So glad we have this great coach! And one who isn't above getting into the verbal fray (stormtroopers - MSU pre-game, P&J fight - PSU, 3rd base - Ohio) when necessary.

Jim is my age now, 59. I'm 4 months and 2 days older than Jim!  I went to school at Michigan in September of 81.  Jim started in '82 (red shirt). I remember seeing him around campus when he became more popular during his junior year, which was my senior year.

Coach shares a birthday with Eddie Vedder, who was born one year later in Evanston, IL.

Cheers to those two "experienced" gentlemen who are still kicking ass and taking names in their respective trades!

I wonder if crappy combined Christmas / birthday gifts helped give Jim that competitive edge he needed to be a successful coach.

Happy Birthday Coach!

Happy Birthday Coach!

Thanks for bringing Michigan football 2 x Big Ten championships & beating the infidels.

Please wish for a National Championship with the candles & cake.  Just don't tell anybody.

Go Blue.

Happy Birthday, Jim!

l aways felt bad for the kids with Christmas birthdays because they got screwed on presents.

Now that I'm older, I wish my birthday was closer to a major holiday so people would forget it.
