Who Got In on Michigan B-Ball at 125-to-1 Odds to Win it All?

Mates,

Took at peek at ESPN and they had an article about sports books having a huge 'exposure' to Michigan if we should win it all.   To put our rise this season in perspective, you could get Michigan to win it all at 125-to-1 odds.  Apparently they booked a couple of $30K bets on that number which makes the pay-out a cool $3.75MM per bet.

Some tournament odds are here: Gonzaga is 2-1 to win the tournament at Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill, followed by Baylor at 5-1 and Illinois and Michigan, which are each 6-1.

Now with Isaiah out that makes the likelihood of running the gauntlet significantly harder.  However, as we have spoken a few times recently, it also gives you/us a feeling of how far we've come this year and how far we have exceeded expectations.  Anything can happen in the NCAA's.  Let's hope that the 'anything' includes Michigan actually winning the NCAA's for the first time since 1989,

Sans Livers, just not seeing how we win it all this year.  But the fact that we're a 1 seed and even in that conversation is such a testament to Juwan and what he's done.  I think next year we might be the "Gonzaga" of this year with some of the new talent in the fold and Dickenson having another year under his belt.

i don't have a feel for what we'll be like next year.  seems like we could lose some serious ball-handling and shooting capability with any number of franz/brooks/smith/livers departures assurred, and filing in with very talented but very young guys.  who knows, maybe we start slow and gain momentum, growth and maturity throughout the year and are a very dangerous team by the time the NCAA's get back around.

In November 2017, I got $50 in on (unranked/0 votes received) Michigan to win it all at 63:1 while in Vegas for my birthday.  Living in Houston at the time, I was able to go to SA to watch our Final Four run, and sat close to Mo's mom in the championship game...

Fun times downtown, and sending the team bus off to the Alamodome in a wave of maize and blue.

Paying $350 for courtside seats, missing out on a $3200 payout, and driving home until 5am (working 8am-6pm that day) made the experience less enjoyable at the end, however.

I sold on the first squeeze.  Bought at $15 and had a limit order, in true WSB fashion, for $420.69.

I didn't think the hedge funds would continue to short it after Melvin needed a bailout.  But those greedy fuckers don't seem to learn.  Hopefully other folks are going to make a lot of money but most of the bagholders right now bought in at $300 so they still need it to go up more.

I don't gamble . . . but I don't think we know for sure that Livers will be out for the entire tournament, if we manage to make it to the last weekend.

If we had a 2021 version of Glen Rice—a consistent scorer whose shot doesn’t disappear under pressure—I’d be much more optimistic about our chances.

I know next to nothing about gambling. Is there a way to sell at this point? Like, to sell your bet to someone else at the current 8-to-1 odds, and take away guaranteed money? Or bet the rest of the field so you'd win some no matter what?

My site, William Hill, is still taking even money bets on the field versus Gonzaga and Baylor.  I put a lot of money on the field a month ago when we were the best team in the country by far.  I'm not feeling as good about that bet anymore.
