Wherever it is hopefully they don’t take espn with them so everyone can continue to laugh at Michigan.

I clicked on this article and read about Kalen Deloach's dad saying how his kid couldn't pass up these trips. In case you forgot (like I did) he ended up at FSU. FML.

Hopefully they hit up some football camps
January 2nd, 2020 at 10:10 AM ^
I like that you call it a vacation because that's exactly what it is. The practices held over there are a joke and complete waste of practice time.
I know it's cool for guys to experience this and all but I do not like the spring distraction and I can't believe those practices are anywhere near as serious as other spring ball practices.
Now get off my lawn

They went to South Africa last year after spring practices and the end of the semester, so I don't recall them doing any practices there.

That's true, but it doesn't fit with the narrative that they *don't care* about football.
January 2nd, 2020 at 11:35 AM ^
I just did a Ctrl + F on my original statement and didn't find the words "don't care about football" anywhere in it.

I have a good friend who is also a Michigan alum and for some reason, these football team trips make him crazy. It's just not right for some reason. Maybe it's not macho or something. I can never get him to give me a real explanation of why he is so against the trips.
I've explained that college football players have a 365 day a year schedule. Because of that, they can't go on a semester abroad. By the way, Michigan has been expanding its capacity to provide semester abroad experiences. Even Engineering offers these experiences now. So, by doing these trips, the players get a taste of what a semester abroad would be like, they get to learn about the world and other cultures, and they get to do some team bonding away from the game. That's all good. It's also funded by independent donations.

They definitely practiced in Rome and I believe France.

I remember now. Harbaugh had the Pope in the Chutes teaching him pad level and how to wrong arm the trap. Then as the game started, Jim replaced they Pope with Jess Speight. The Pope then entered the transfer portal

Its obviously designed as a troll question, but even full time NFL players go on vacation in the offseason. Of all the things to complain about .. this seems to be the silliest.
How dare young people enjoy themselves at all over the course of a year when they haven’t even won a championship. They need to be as bitter and miserable as the loser assholes on sports message boards.

I saw the title and thought you were asking me personally. I'm headed to Florida for my son's baseball team's spring training and then to LA a month later for my daughter's college trips. I'll be an empty nester soon, which means more freedom for trips to AA for games. Woo!
January 2nd, 2020 at 11:14 AM ^
Well I'm going to Italy this spring. I was in Paris and Normandy in 2018 so I think the team is following my plans. I'm thinking either Ireland or Germany in 2021 but don't tell Harbaugh.
January 2nd, 2020 at 11:19 AM ^
I don't know about the team but I'm going to La Quinta, California for a few weeks. Looking at houses while I'm out there as well. Soon as my daughter graduates college, I'm Cali bound. Warm weather and golf is what I've prescribed myself
January 2nd, 2020 at 11:32 AM ^
Been out here 17 years. The politics have crushed the middle class. Homeless people everywhere spreading disease. Taxes are through the roof. You must be very wealthy if you want to buy a house here.

My business partners and I decided to move ourselves and the business out of California in 2000. To us, it wasn't worth the extra money it cost to stay in California vs. some other state.

My in laws are selling the house in La Quinta. I believe it’s located in the trilogy, which like every development, consist of 3-4K homes. Nice area, enjoy the golf and reasonable temps this time of year.

We will be camping in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. It's a pretty large space-59,000 acres so "Y'all come!". BTW, like many things out here, except for the heat and the wind, "Mountains" is an exaggeration. (The provincial thinking and ignorance is not an exaggeration either.)
