When Urban is worried about the weather
What does is say when Urban Meyer, in Columbus on Fox Big Noon Kickoff, is asked for a prediction in The Game and his response is “check the weather in 10 days?”
… or when tOSU is playing Indiana at home, where IU hasn’t won since 1986, and there are snowflakes in the air, and the pundits are all like 👀
Or, stated differently, how many ways can people say without saying that Ohio State is Soft?
Discuss.

urban Meyer - 7-0 at osu, yet has a bigger Michigan complex than anyone. Personifies an entire insecure state. Love to see it.

That's why I hate seeing him on the sidelines for UM games..you know he's scouting for Day.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:35 PM ^
But he lost to us at Florida. That's part of his record, too.
November 13th, 2022 at 2:08 AM ^
Indeed.
Put some respect on Lloyd Carr's name.

When you win WITHOUT dignity, you become insecure.

I heard it's warm in Nebraska this time of year.
November 12th, 2022 at 11:46 AM ^
And the Cayman Islands are downright hot.
November 12th, 2022 at 11:48 AM ^
It's not the heat, it's the humidity.
November 12th, 2022 at 3:18 PM ^
It’s so thick, you can smell it.
November 12th, 2022 at 11:45 AM ^
It’s fun watching them arrive at the same excuse. They can’t bend it with mental gymnastics, weather can beat them and they seem to have accepted it. Midwest football power can’t play when it’s cold or snowing or raining. MIDWEST….
November 12th, 2022 at 11:46 AM ^
Started snowing in Columbus. Will it force OSU to run the ball and take Stoud out of play for a 2nd straight game?
They'll be missing RB Henderson - and a couple of OL - again today and some of their fans are starting to question Day and the coaches on why they've had so many injuries in practice this year
November 12th, 2022 at 11:47 AM ^
Ohio State is so soft. And always will be under Ryan Day. Hahahaha.
November 12th, 2022 at 10:11 PM ^
I always thought Urban's teams were soft too, but he found ways to weasel victories every year. Point being, just because they are soft doesn't mean they aren't talented and dangerous. Coach Harbaugh needs to stay sharp like he was kast year because Day will fire everything he's got and you can bet they've been practicing for The Game all year.

I actually would prefer the buckeyes are surprised when they discover they can’t play their style of offense in November… late November
November 12th, 2022 at 11:51 AM ^
I think that discovery happened 12 months ago
November 12th, 2022 at 2:25 PM ^
Twelve months ago Michigan was winning that game wether the game was outside or in a dome. Michigan could have run it down their throats for ten straight quarters if they wanted too

Softy von Softenstein

Sounds like he is putting an early claim in on excuses.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:12 PM ^
I can't wait for Michigan to play those fuck sticks.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:18 PM ^
Soft ass team.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:18 PM ^
this fits here, too: ryan 'hair club for men' day, in contemplation of the michigan game weather.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:23 PM ^
I really love this situation. After beating OSU last year, they went from a nearly unstoppable juggernaut to a glass cannon. They're highly rated, but everyone questions them. The 'soft' criticism won't die. Hah, I hope that's running through their heads all month long.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:32 PM ^
If we beat the Bucks again, and the weather is lousy, I can hear Gene Smith arguing that they should be in the playoffs too because they would win a rematch in nice weather.
November 12th, 2022 at 12:39 PM ^
Buckeyes.
This is my new crusade (after "the Big Ten Worst" division).
THEosu tries to sound tough with "Bucks" but their mascot / symbol / icon is not a buck but a nut.

What’s this IF stuff?
November 12th, 2022 at 12:42 PM ^
They’re up 21-0 against IU in the 1st q, they’ve adapted
November 12th, 2022 at 12:45 PM ^
U mean that or is this sarcasm. This is IU....
November 12th, 2022 at 12:59 PM ^
What was the UM/IU score in the 1st and 2nd Q with good weather?
November 12th, 2022 at 7:35 PM ^
How many seizures did their coaches have on the sideline in the first half?
November 12th, 2022 at 12:55 PM ^
I suspect people are going a bit overboard on the “Soft OSU can’t play in bad weather” notion.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:00 PM ^
Their defense is good. I think the "soft" stuff is more about the offense. Their defense has really been good at stopping the run - for the most part - but can be beat 3 to 4 times a game on long pass plays
November 12th, 2022 at 1:36 PM ^
Why do you say their defense is good? Without checking stats, they seem, by the eye test, about the same as last year. They have a stellar defense against bad teams. Their new DC had one notable season in the last 10 years.
November 12th, 2022 at 2:19 PM ^
Check the stats of last year and this year. I believe I heard in pregame that they're top 10 in scoring defense this year. And if you combine 2020 and 2021, they set an all time OSU record for points being scored against them in back to back years
November 12th, 2022 at 4:41 PM ^
Thank you. I was too lazy to look it up. That is a significant improvement.
Northwestern 206 rushing yards running the wildcat. PSU 31 points. Again, stellar stats against teams without an offensive pulse. Interesting mix. Thanks again.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:03 PM ^
I get the sentiment “snow, cold, flu excuses” but we dominated them despite the weather not because of the weather. They made plays. We just made more.
And they’ve already put away IU early, when we didn’t.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:09 PM ^
That's a totally different defense this year. Last year, we weren't the only ones that gashed them. They got ripped by everyone
November 12th, 2022 at 1:27 PM ^
I suspect people are going a bit overboard on the “Soft OSU can’t play in bad weather” notion.
Agreed. It's easy to type that soft stuff from your easy chair. I'm sure they're sick of hearing it, and are going to use it as an incentive. Last year's game is over.
November 12th, 2022 at 1:54 PM ^
I guess you could say it’s a comment about OSU being soft, or he might be saying Michigan is clearly better at running the ball so weather conditions that would favor a running team could shape the outcome of the game. Sort of like the year it poured the entire second half of the MSU game, the weather played a role in that one.
It’s no secret that the weather could give us a nice advantage. That’s why there are threads on MGo and 11W discussing the weather for 11/26.
November 12th, 2022 at 2:45 PM ^
That Indiana QB is shifty as hell but his passing sucks
November 12th, 2022 at 3:21 PM ^
I’d prefer we threw the ball a bit more but this how could we possibly be expected to run the ball philosophy is much worse.
