Sometime this fall, according to his blog
It's called Third and Long, you can search Amazon for it.
I took the link out because it actually linked to the girlfriend's account, where she's signed in.
A search of Amazon gave me the answer within 12 seconds (8/30/11), which undoubtedly was a shorter period of time than it took you to create this Board post.
that is a positive, Mr. Crankipants.
Exactly. I didn't know Bacon was coming out with a book on RR and now I'm gonna pre order that shit.
Glad this post came out. Had no idea.
Has there been any leaks about the perspective the book takes. Is it pro/anti the RR era or has tehre been any kind of run about it.
Very interesting to see the reception by Michigan fans. Will they really buy into a book about three years that, for the most part, most Michigan fans are hoping will be quickly forgotten by more successful seasons in the future.
There was a WSJ article by Bacon back in January. Might give you an idea (I didn't re-read it, so I don't really remember the tenor of his take), check it out here.

I think it's safe to say it won't be anti-Rodriguez, judging from Bacon's comment below (from a short item at arborweb.com that talks about the piece Bacon wrote for the WSJ).
What's his own view of the Rodriguez firing? "I thought he deserved a fourth year," Bacon says. "But I'm clearly not the athletic director."
It's probably a little pretentious to assume that the OP - or anyone - would search for a book on Amazon that won't come out for several more months.
I Googled "john bacon rich rodriguez book" and Amazon was the first result.
I seem to remember him mentioning that it got pushed to November. I might just be making that up, though. A lot of times companies will put dummy or relative-vicinity dates on products until they get an official one, so I wouldn't hold the one on Amazon as gospel.
But I wouldn't be surprised. I'm in his class right now and I know he hasn't finished it yet and its kind of past the deadline.
So if he still gets credit for the book, would it be proper to say it's ironic?
I'm in his class as well. It seems as if the book is a little behind schedule, but it certainly isn't because Bacon's not working hard enough. The book will be great. A good point was made though, does he get a zero on his book because he missed deadline? I know that's how it works with out papers.
Baked potato..
French Fries
Underrated post combo right here.
I've never anticipated a book more than this. It's almost like it's a movie.
Over/Under on how many times I scream out in anger while reading this book?
At this point I'll just sigh and shake my head.
Sorry... I'm not that brite.
Someone asks when the Bacon book on RR is supposed to come out, and he gets flamed because he didn't check on Amazon first?
Jesus.
How many times do we win the Big Ten? And how many times are we actually "A MACHINE?"
Or is it not that kind of book...? I'm confused...
I'm currently in his class and this semester he has complained pretty often about needing to get the book done and being past his deadline. Guy's been working his ass off, so I can't wait for it to come out.
Who is John Bacon?
I'm just sayin'....
I would be more interested if RR was still our coach. Reading it will only make me think about what could have been had things gone right.
I share the same feelings. I will probably buy it, but not finish it. Like most books I try to read.
I would think it would give people the opposite reaction. I can imagine reading it and thinking "Holy shit, that was three years of annoying-ass drama."
