Weber: "I'm Still Considering Them [MSU]"

Submitted by alum96 on

Sounds like Weber may catch the game today in EL which on the surface is no biggie.  Considering the circumstances around the program I guess the fact he is still considering MSU is also not a surprise.  The term "commit" is not meaning much right now.

Per Wiltfong:

Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech Top247 running back and Michigan commit Michael Weber tells 247Sports he may visit Michigan State this afternoon for the Spartans game against the Wolverines.

Several of Weber's teammates will be in East Lansing and he said he may use one of their tickets.

"I'm (still) considering them," Weber said of Michigan State.

The nation's No. 13 running back according to the 247Sports Composite, Weber led his team to a city championship Friday evening, carrying just 11 times for 178 yards and three touchdowns, and adding a 76-yard scoring reception. He played just three quarters in the 39-7 win over previously undefeated King.

Weber is the country's No. 112 prospect overall.

mean nothing to me anymore.  Look at what State has done with nothing and what we have done with 4 and 5 stars.  We'll be fine with who comes when we get a good coach.  No one can predict how a high school player will pan out.

These posts used to piss me off almost as much as losing. Now I don't give a damn, this staff has recruited at an all time level and look at the product on the field. Get the right coach, who can develop talent and recruits will come.

I'd feel better if Brandon was gone. At this point, there is no hope until he's gone. He won't resign and he's holding this program hostage. I don't trust he will replace Hoke. If he does, I don't trust he will find the right replacement.

On October 25th, 2014, Brady Hoke gave one of the best post game press conference speeches of all time when his Michigan Wolverines lost to the Michigan state Spartans, dropping their record to 3-5. “ Well, I’ll start off by saying this: do not blame that game on the defense, OK? I don’t care who you play — whether it’s a high school team, a junior college team, a college team — much less a Big ten team. When you turn the ball over five times — four interceptions, one for a touchdown, three others in field position to set up touchdowns — you ain’t going to beat anybody I just talked about. Anybody. All right? And that was a disgraceful performance in my opinion. We threw that game. We gave it away by doing that. We gave them the friggin’ game. In my opinion, that sucked. Ah. You know? You can’t turn the ball over five times like that. Holy crap! I don’t know who the hell we think we are when we do something like that. Unbelievable. Five turnovers. One of them for — We’ve thrown four interceptions for touchdowns this year. That might be an NCAA record! And we’ve still got six games left, so there’s no telling how many we’ll have. That’s pitiful! I mean, it’s absolutely pitiful to perform like that. Pitiful! ” At the end of the press conference Brady responded to a question from a reporter asking about the Wolverines' chances for recruiting. Coach Brady replied in a rememerable, high pitched sounding voice with: “ What’s that? Ah — Recruiting? Don’t talk about — recruiting? You kidding me? Recruiting? I just hope we can win a game! Another game.

The entire program is in limbo right now. Noone knows yet whether hoke will be fired or not so players don't know if they should stay committed

I can't blame him for feeling this way. Everything around UM is shaky an uncertain right now; MSU is stable and has had great succuess the last few years. I do like to think that these kids consider more than just football and realize that a Michigan degree is something that holds a lot of weight.

Remember when Hoke had that hard ass commitment policy? Pharaoh Brown and David Dawson get their offers pulled because they take a visit after committing blue. Now guys are can do whatever they want after they commit and we just pray their LOI comes through the fax machine on Signing Day. Just another sideshow in the UM football circus.

If he goes Blue? We need to get the coaching situation straight before we worry about a 4 star RB. We'll have 2 5 star and 2 4 stars for two more years after this one. If he goes to Sparty oh well, next.
