We Haven't Won a Second Half vs OSU Since 2011

Part of OSU's success in our rivalry game as been their half time adjustments. Since 2011, we have lost the second half in 7 of 8 games. Since 2003, we are 3-11-2 after halftime. The key to a Michigan victory could come down to whether or not we can make a crucial half time adjustment.

True. OSU has lost 3 second halves since 2003 and won 2 of those games (05 & 06). My point is that we have recently gotten our asses kicked in the second half of this game. Hopefully the trend of good halftime adjustments this year continues on Saturday!

Save the legs for the game.  Fresh legs can run!  .

Work on timing and game plan.  Full rotation on defense in the first half and part of the second half.  Don't wear down the first team dline in the 1st half...

Be ready for many in game adjustments.  Esp 2nd half adjustments.  Be ready for them to save part of their game plan for the second half.  Save some things for them too!

Attack, play makers have to be on the field to make plays!  Can't have them watching on the sidelines...

Every year the Buckeyes look totally dominant in just about every game, except for one where they completely forget how to play football, and shit the bed. Fingers crossed they saved it for Saturday, this year.

Wait, where's 2016* in this thread?

(* - I subtract six points and twenty-ish yards from Ohio State's final stats obvs)

In all seriousness, I'd be curious to see the yardage differential as well to see whether this is a case of Ohio State simply playing better football or if there is some kind of actual Angry Michigan-Hating God.

This is generally how games go when a good team plays a great team. The score is close at the half even if the great team has dominated in yards and other peripheral stats. Then they pull away in the second.

I think we might be reading into things a little too much. With the exception of 2011 (which UM did win the second half) and 2016 OSU has just been the better team in those years. To me that is more just the lesser team throwing out the kitchen sink in the first half to make it a game, and not having anything left to go to in the second when the better team starts taking control.

Depth of talent and a larger pool of great players who are adept at making plays when they are needed most.

And bonuses.  Stuffed bags of meritocracy.  D-line literally calls them "cash sacks".  Fact.
