WBB beats Indiana 68-52, Harbaugh in attendance

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

WBB snapped their 3 game losing streak with an imposing 68-52 win over Indiana. Game wasn't as close as the score indicates, either.

Michigan had a 30 point lead at one point. This was a must win game for Michigan, who currently is slotted as one of the "Last Four In" in the bracketology.

Freshman phenom Katelynn Flaherty who usually comes off the bench and does big things, got her 4th start of the season tonight and definitely earned it, leading the team in scoring with 21 points.

Senior star Cyesha Goree didn't have a double-double like she usually does, but that was okay tonight. She still had 12 boards with 3 other Wolverines scoring in double figures (Shannon Smith, Siera Thompson & Flaherty).

Michigan is now 15-11 and 7-8 in the B1G with just 3 games left in the regular season. All games from here on out will be televised.

They head to Minnesota on Saturday for a 2pm game on BTN. That will be a tough one, but IMO, they should win the next 2 out of 3 at the minimum and win a B1G Tournament game. I think they're in regardless if they do that, but the B1G Tournament win locks it up ala MBB in 2010-11.

Harbaugh and his daughter were at Crisler Center for the second straight night.

Kim Barnes Arico did specifically point out that Jim Harbaugh was in attendance as part of the great crowd, so there is that. If there is a Harbaugh Effect, it is nice to see that it is indeed starting to infiltrate other varsity programs. Actually, more to the point, it is great to see him supporting other programs on campus like this honestly.

Like Jim is really good at balancing work and family time.  I think AA is a great place to raise a family.  I hope he is very successful and stays for the long-haul.
