WAY OT: Eminem's new album Recovery

Submitted by M.I.Sicks on

IMO it's amazing. It's similar to the Marshall Matthers LP but even better. The beats are sick. I'm leaning towards saying it's the best I've heard from him, but I like so much of his stuff it's hard to say that. You'll hear this one all summer long for sure. I imagine there will be some new Eminem piped in music at the Big House this year. It's scheduled to drop 6-22.

I love the album. Ive been listenin to it everyday for about the past week. It is definitely more like his older shit, which is good. I think it is way better than relapse. I don't think there is a bad song on the entire album. I can't wait to see him and jay z at comerica.

Yep, the entire album is great. The only bad thing I could say about it is when he tries to hit a note that he can't in that song (dedicated to Proof) "Your never out"

thanks cuz, WORD, ay yo dawg check it tho. word poppin on the streets is that Em fell off for a min, ya feel me? naaa hahah let the haters hate, Imma do me...and Em will do him. GET AT ME HATERS

(translation: thank you, I concur. Please consider the following ideas and philosophies. Rumors have circulated that the artist, "Em", was missing from this "rap game" for an indefinite period of time. Nevertheless, let the naysayers pass unjustified theories. I shall focus on myself for arbitrary reasons, and Eminem shall undoubtedly do the same. Critics, feel free to reply.)

it felt like filler material.  Beats  were weak, sounding way to pop for my taste.  Em should never have Pink,Rhianna, etc. on the album.  I like Em, but this is way to soft for me.

I feel like this may be his second best album. The Eminem Show will never be topped, there are so many songs on there that are so good, it's like every track is a classic! This new one is great tho, I love, "Talkin 2 Myself", that shit is Em at his best. It's just too bad the album got leaked, I'm still gonna buy the CD when it comes out tho out of respect.

Of course The Eminem Show is  his best! You have cleaning out my closet, sing for the moment, when the music stops, superman, hailies song, my dad's gone crazy, business, solider, till i collapse, white america, say goodbye to hollywood, say what you say! That shit's on any other album he put out. I liked Marshall Mathers LP and i already like more songs from the leaked album then i did from the entire MM LP...just my opinion

FWIW Mrshall Mathers is the best song on that LP

"So I picked myself up off the ground, and fucking swam before I drowned
Hit my bottom so hard I bounced twice, advice this time around
It's different, them last 2 albums didn't count
Encore I was on drugs, Relapse I was flushing 'em out
I've come to make it up to you, now no more fucking around
I got something to prove to fans cause I feel like I let 'em down
So please accept my apology, I finally feel like I'm back to normal
I feel like me again, let me formally re-introduce myself
To you for those of you who don't know
The new me's back to the old me, and homie I don't show no
Signs of slowing or bowing, I'm blowing up all over
My life is no longer a movie, but the show ain't over homos
I'm back with a vengeance homie, Weezy keep your head up
T.I. keep your head up, Kanye keep your head up
Don't let up, just keep slaying em
Rest in peace to DJ AM, cause I know what this shit is like
I struggle with this shit every single day and I'm"

Top to bottom this album is terrific. Is there another rapper who has the universal respect of rappers from coast to coast more than Em? So good to have him back.

This is one of those albums that you can just hit play and not touch it, every song is great in its own way.  I agree with superman that this is his second best, Eminem Show was just amazing in every way, but this is a close race.

I can't get into rating albums numerically...

I do feel the album is in the same league as SS:LP,MM:LP and Eminem Show.

Which is a wonderfull thing after Encore and Relapse...Relapse was actually good in many ways.I just couldn't enjoy the theme(a whole album about killing women?Really?).Encore was just garbage.

Recovery is a return to the Em I've missed for so long.

I've only heard 11 tracks BTW...They're holding me over until it actually releases and I can buy the deluxe edition.

"I'm a spacebound rocketship and your hearts the moon"-I was like "WTF?" but that shit has really grown on me.

I just downloaded this album but I know some of the fellas at work were sayin that its pretty shitty, almost as bad as Lil Wayne's last cd.

I'm only going thru the process of giving it a listen but I like it so far. I did hear the song with Lil Wayne, Eminem snaps on it lyrically but damn whats up with the sample? All I can think of is "A Night at The Roxbury". I'm a huge Eminem fan so whatever I think after I listen to it, chances are I'll be a little generous regardless.

You know as I sit here and study my BIO notes, I have the album playing and I can say that its starting to grow on me. I def like it more now than I did an hour ago.

My early favorites:

Cold Wind Blows
Talkin 2 Myself
Wont Back Down (I know Pink is in it but Eminem snaps on it!)
Space Bound (this ones grown on me the most)

Least favorites:

Love the Way You Lie
25 to Life
