Wouldn't it be more appropriate to give Lou Groza the Jake Moody Award?
November 29th, 2022 at 3:04 PM ^
Jake needs you to vote, currently trailing 47% to 52% for some tar-heel
November 29th, 2022 at 5:02 PM ^
UNC = tar heels. i think NC state = wolf pack. but either way, a pretender compared to moody.
November 29th, 2022 at 3:04 PM ^
I was curious if anyone has won it twice.
Sebastian Janikowski won in 1998, 1999.

Voted. He's down by 20. We can win this. NC State? Really? C'mon we can do better than this.
November 29th, 2022 at 3:15 PM ^
And he's taken the lead!
November 29th, 2022 at 3:17 PM ^
Something tells me the "who is your favorite finalist" poll has nothing to do with who will win the award. Nonetheless, I have voted and am pleased that Mr. Moody has taken the lead.

It says fan vote counts for 1 of the votes. How many voters are there? If there's 4 voters + fan vote then yeah, this is good. If there's 200 voters + fan vote then....not so much.
EDIT: Found this...
The national panel of voters is comprised of more than 100 FBS head coaches, SIDs, media members, former Groza finalists, and current NFL kickers.

Thank you for this context. Looks like fan vote counts for less than 1% Win or lose, he is #1 in our hearts.
November 29th, 2022 at 3:34 PM ^
1% lead at the moment for Jake!
November 29th, 2022 at 3:51 PM ^
Up by 18. Vote early and often.

I smell shenanigans.
Stanford's kicker now has nearly 50% of the vote, just 18 hours after being at 3% . No way he could have garnered such numbers without the assistance of some computer nerd.

Still a dead heat with that NC State kicker. If we, the Blue Mafia, let Moody lose this vote, RCMB is gonna be so disappointed in us as a deep state.
November 29th, 2022 at 4:15 PM ^
Why is a performance award being treated as a popularity contest? I realize it's only worth 1 vote but seems a little silly
November 29th, 2022 at 4:28 PM ^
The blurb about the Stanford kicker scoring all 15 points in a dramatic 15-14 comeback win over ASU is hilarious
November 29th, 2022 at 4:29 PM ^
Just voted and he was down by 26 votes
November 29th, 2022 at 4:41 PM ^
Moody is 35 votes behind. Stuff those ballot boxes!
November 29th, 2022 at 4:51 PM ^
It is close, but I think Moody should win. Between Moody and Dunn, looking at what would push my vote.
More Field Goals Made from difficult distances - Moody
The longest field goal made - Moody
More difficult kicking environments - Moody
Attempting extreme distance kicks - Moody
Kicking on a team seeking playoffs (the most pressure/better team) - Moody
Most points scored - Moody
and I guarantee he has the best tackle - Moody
Dunn has a fair deal of less attempts but a higher percentage of makes generally kicking from easier distances in the ACC.
Coaches, Media, SIDs, former Groza finalists and current NFL kickers vote for the Groza.

Vote has been compromised.
Stanford kicker received 10k+ votes (>50% of all vote) in just the last ~12hrs.
Someone needs to inform the organization.
