Volleyball is at Stanford tonight in a Sweet 16 matchup. It's #4 vs #13 (Michigan is the lower seed), but both teams struggled against weaker competition in their round of 32 game. Live video is being provided by Stanford: Video Feed Live stats From the NCAA Volleyball Blog:
Stanford is among the national top 31 in five statistical categories: 13th in hitting percentage (.270), 20th in blocks (2.66), 23rd in assists (13.14), 30th in kills (13.97) and 31st in winning percentage (.767). Stanford's Alix Klineman is a two-time All-American (1st team in '08, 2nd team in '07). She also is a second-team Academic All-American this year - one of just five non-seniors (and the only one to qualify for the NCAA tournament) to be tabbed Academic All-Americans this season. Gabi Ailes ranks second among players remaining in the tournament in season dig average (5.30; 16th overall). Stanford's Janet Okogbaa is 15th in DI in hitting percentage (.388). U-M ranks among the top 45 in the nation in five statistical categories, including 31st in kills (13.94). Michigan setter Lexi Zimmerman was a second-team All-American last year.

Looks like the Wahines (Hawaii) are going to knock out the Illini. Illinois hasn't been defending well or playing great defense either. Hawaii is capitalizing on Illinois being out of position. A couple really good hitters for Hawaii. They kind of remind me of Michigan with their aggressive serving and hitting. EDIT: Hawaii has a 5'2" DS who looks like a midget on the court. More entertaining than Illinois' play right now.

13-8 in the first set. Hunt has been unstoppable in the front. The announcer keeps trying to jinx Michigan by claiming we haven't had a hitting error yet. Great job mixing up strong kills, tips, and 2s. We look like the better team so far. Lots of time left.

M wins the first set 25-18. One hitting error in the set. That's ridiculous. Hunt and Paz are hitting tremendously and Zimmerman is playing one of her best games of the last 3 weeks. Stanford has no idea where the ball is going and aren't covering well.

If the announcers are to be believed, all you need to be able to play volleyball is "stay loose" and "be a lefty." The lefty fist pump is highly underrated.
