The Victors, Broadway style

I apologize to everyone for my Finebaum post. It was poor judgment on my part and I would delete it if I could.

Here is my attempt at communal restitution: The Victors performed by the UM 2024 Musical Theater Class. This incredible rendition truly captures the triumphal euphoria of the moment:

I might be dating myself but years ago, I don't know how many, think ,"early days of video content readily available on the internet"... There was a similar thing in a house with theater students. Anyone recall?

2015. A parent filmed a bunch of theater students singing at a graduation party and it went viral. There was some outrage when the head of the music department had it removed because it allegedly didn't meet the quality he wanted to represent the school of music, and Brian called him the "Dave Brandon of the music department" or something memorable like that.

Funny, that video didn't feel that long ago. Those kids are all 30 now.

The issue IIRC is that the department head was worried that prospective theatres doing background checks on school alums would see them at a party with red cups as the biggest search engine hit which could disadvantage them professionally when auditioning.  Seems a little stick-in-the-mud to us, but to be fair that guy has forgotten more about the musical theatre world than any of us will ever learn.

Give me chills.  Thank you for posting.

FWIW while I’m not a fan of giving him clicks, I found little wrong with seeing Finebaum debase himself beyond the fact that his head should have been covered with something or blocked out.  That sort of obscenity has no place here on MGoBlog.

Thanks for posting. Got dusty up in here while I watched that.

Well over 40 years have passed and I still have this emotional connection with the greatest university in the world!

My niece was in the theater program, graduated this past May and knows all those kids... Speaks highly of all them and the director. Some great, talented kids there
