USC has their Caleb Williams replacement

USC has their Caleb Williams replacement out of the transfer portal. It is Will Howard, QB from Kansas State. He is a big kid at 6'4", 242 lbs. 24 passing TDs and 10 INTs in 2023. Although he did have 9 rushing TDs this year vs Williams 11. He had only 7 starts in 2022 and 6 in 2021, so it seems like a big step down, certainly from a mobility standpoint. But then again, pretty much anyone is a step down from Williams in terms of mobility.

This is probably the reason Malachi Nelson left the program.

Harbaugh had asked JJ if he wanted to discuss his plans for the future. JJ said he is only thinking about Bama. Great answer, buuuuuttttt he could really be setting Michigan down a tough road next season by not figuring out what his thoughts for next year might be.

Drawing attention on Twitter this afternoon.

EDIT: Not sure why people negged. Because the OP disavowed his comment? This was emailed to me by a friend yesterday afternoon--he thought it was the correct answer from JJ. The tweet (ir whatever they're calling them these days) drew 135,000 views.

Dude, you are such a concern troll. Harbaugh offering advice/feedback on what will be a huge decision in JJ's life and JJ honestly answering that it isn't on his mind right now, is nothing at all like your implied brush-off and deflection of Harbaugh seeking clarity on next year's QB situation.

"We" don't really know anything but we're not privy to private conversations. Give JJ his moment. He's still a kid and enjoying college and probably doesn't know what he wants to do yet. As a Michigan fan, I'd rather him concentrate on beating Alabama. If he stays, that's great. If he leaves, well then the coaches will figure it out.

*Malachi Nelson was supposed to be USC’s Caleb Williams replacement.  Now they have Will Howard because they have no depth or options at QB.  People around the program actually wanted Washington State’s Cameron Ward…a name Ohio State folks have been talking about.

I hate the transfer portal.  It's free agency without the rules that every other sports league has for free agency.

It's ruining college athletics.  And yeah, go ahead and get off my lawn.
