Updated bowl projections.....
Ira said there were a lot of bowl game reps in the booth at yesterday's game.
Michigan vs USC in a California bowl game.......most would think the Rose Bowl.
Sigh.

I'm guessing talking head 2 has Wisconsin in the playoff?
edit: but then they would be in the Rose or Sugar...maybe he has them not qualifying for a bowl? Odd.'
edit 2: and now I see you've changed it and Wisconsin is listed...nevermind

I look at the schedule and wonder how we are even going to get bowl eligible if Notre Dame and Utah games are indicative of our play against non-cupcakes.

Is the San Francisco bowl at least at the Niners new field?
September 21st, 2014 at 6:01 PM ^
Yes, but that's no update from AT&T Park, which is IMO the most beautiful ballpark in any sport. Sweeping vistas of the Bay and walkable to some amazing bars and restaurants. Still (for me at least) the best-case-scenario for any non-New Years bowl.

Hey a guy can dream.

This is very similar to last week's. Only now these bowl projections seem optimistic to me. I suppose Michigan may very well beat Northwestern, Maryland, Rutgers, Indiana, and maybe even Minnesota, to get to 7-5. And if they do, that has meaning, and while I won't be bragging about it, exactly, I will appreciate the effort it took to pull it off. It just seems so out of reach, at the moment.

I think we need to shut the damn thing down before accepting a bid to play in the Independence Bowl.

Massey has a matchup simulator, and if either of those scenarios materialized based on current data at least if you used his data, you would have:
- versus Pittsburgh - estimated 45% win probability for Michigan
- versus USC - estimated 22% win probability for Michigan
Mind you, there's historic data in the algorithm, but yeah, not inspiring sadly.

Probability of Michigan winning a bowl game is about as far down on my list of concerns as possible at this point.

That would be Northwestern.

You picked Michigan to go 15-0 before the season, and said they'd go 13-1 a week ago....

And I'm actually picking Michigan to go 12-2 this week. WD, I'm trying to be an optimist again - just go along with it.

Not if they play like they did last week. The offense has ZERO trips to the redzone this year against teams that have a pulse. Unfortunately, every team on our schedule from here on out has a pulse. It's going to be tough to win 4 more games. :(

send 4-8 teams to bowl games now? I know the amount of bowls has gotten ridiculous, but I wasn't aware a four win season would get a you a match up with USC. That's pretty neat.

Why are we doing this?

No toilet bowl? I guess that reallly would be any bowl game in jersey.
