UM Champions Golf Outing & RR

Submitted by Quail2theVict0r on

So I get this E-mail from the AD about an Alumni event, the UM Champions Golf Outing in Naples Florida on Feb 7. So I didn't think much of it like all the other AD e-mail I get until I got to reading it again:

Please join University of Michigan Athletic Director David Brandon and Head Football Coach Rich Rodriguez on Monday, February 7, 2011 at the Grey Oaks Country Club Estuary Course.

I may be stretching this a bit much but I wouldn't think that an AD would schedule an expensive golf outing with the coach and Alumni if he didn't expect that coach to be there come February. I know the "RR is on the hot seat" talk is annoying but to me this is the first sign that he isn't on the hot seat at all (besides the fact that his football team is killing people with slot ninjas".

Read into it the same.  So much so, forwarded it to my 13 y/o uber-fan. (Not to be confused with SuperFan, who sits 35 rows below me in Section 20.)

While not an ironclad guarantee, it's going to be business-as-usual there at the Athletic Department, and that includes fundraising and showing support for the coach in subtle and not-so-subtle ways.

...so much.  Brandon can always substitute Coach X if that's what's required. I don't think it will be required, but this in and of itself is not some sort of vote of confidence.

Golfing in February?  I must have just skimmed over that part when I read the email earlier...

Also, RR doesn't, for some reason, strike me as a golfer.  Did he play in the outing for C.S. Mott earlier this summer?

EDIT:  Oh wow am I an idiot.  I must have just skimmed over the whole email!  Of course golf in Feb, with it being in Florida!  Please neg as desired.
