Ty Wheatley Jr is on campus

Submitted by JoeyFootball19 on

Ty Wheatley Jr is on campus. Just walked by Ty Wheatley Jr, Sr and Jay Harbaugh. Looked like they were showing him around. They all had huge smiles on their face. Jay was showing him the ropes. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come. Go Blue!

It is time to get all of the Michigan "legacy" recruits to play football where they belong.  I hate seeing the son of a former Michigan star even think of playing elsewhere.  When Michigan is truly doing things right, all of the legacies will want to go to Michigan above all other choices.  I think Harbaugh is going a long way toward repairing all of the damage DB inflicted upon the program.

Come on. I'm for bashing DB as much as the next guy, but to say Harbaugh has to dig the program out of a hole DB put it in is ridiculous. Did he coach the team? Hoke and his incompetent coaching staff did way more damage to the football program than a former Athletic Director possibly could.

DB was a bad AD, sure, but no one would have predicted he would suck that mightily. i believe nearly everyone, including brian, thought he was a slam-dunk hire. but even once in a while a dunk ends in epic fail. that is DB: instead of the safe two-handed "game, blouses" dunk, he flamed out like a poorly conceived and overly elaborate attempt at a slam-dunk competition.

Maybe we should quit playing the blame game and move forward. I find it interesting that Harbaugh praised Hoke, and didn't work to throw DB under the bus either. Those of you who have been involved in hiring and firing and changing direction know that while it's important to learn from the past, it also doesn't usually do much good to bitterly complain and whine about past mistakes. You learn and you move on.

Indeed.

It would hurt a little for someone of Jr.'s ability to go elsewehere.  It would hurt so much more for someone of Jr's legacy to go elsewhere.  I would hate it.  And as much as I would hate it, I would equally love it to see this legacy join the family.

Now that would be a nice scene at Mr. Spots...two generations of Wheatleys with steak hoagies, or perhaps the Philly Original. Maybe some cheese fries too. Great, now I am hungry too.

Sure, they deliver, but would they deliver all the way to Romulus from S. State?

... shares a parking lot with Blimpy's.  They occupy the space where Eastern Flame was (I have no idea how they stayed open as long as they did... always empty in there).

I have both Fleetwood and Blimpy's to choose from, depending upon whether I'm willing to wait 5 minutes or 45 minutes.

Bonus Blimpy Fact:  They now accept credit cards.

I still have a good (based on nothing whatsoever) feeling that we get Roquan Smith. Seems like he had/has an excellent relationship with Durkin. The in-state pull might be a little too much to overcome, though. I still feel the best about him out of the elite recruits left on the board.

I'm starting to experience Clark fatigue. His constant (seemingly) need for attention is wearing on me a little. He may not be a true "Team" player. I get that he is a HS kid going through an experience few do but why fiddle with the fans? If your decision truly is not going to be made till NSD then go silent untill then. At a minimum I hope he will let the coaches know so they can plan. That's not to say that he won't inform JH tomorrow on his decision. My feeling is that he loves the celebrity aspect of this to much and will pick CA.

"He may not be a true team player"

Nothing like predictive logic based on nothing. The whims of 18 year olds with potential for world class education at multiple schools (M, UNC, UCLA) and the kid's desire to make the right call for him does not call into question his abilities as a "team" player. Thus is an elite recruit with options. I would hope he sees M as his best one.

Attribution like that is ridiculous, wholly speculative and without merit.

First of all I used the word "may" in an obvious attempt to cut the kid some slack. Second of all it has been shown on multiple occasions in the sports world that individuals who seek a lot of personal attention have a tendency to overly pursue personal gains above the team. This is, in the words of Ace, flimsy evidence I agree but yet observable. Clark is displaying some early signs of this need for attention behavior via his Twitter account. But again, this is a new experience for the kid I admit. I'm not trying to denigrate the kid for Pete's sake. I'm merely trying to make a point based on observation. He seems to like attention and the lure of hot girls and a Hollywood atmosphere might be a bit much for AA to overcome. If this is the case I hope he at least lets the coaches know early.

Sr: "Welcome home, son. How is practice going at that other school?"

Jr: "Good. Not as difficult as I thought it would be."

Sr: "They're doing it wrong. No son of mine is going to be skating through football practice. You're coming back to Michigan where you belong."
