Great comeback by Tulane, SC's defense lets them down again. Green Wave.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:03 PM ^
SC has a defense?
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:55 PM ^
NO ONE HAS A DEFENSE NOWADAYS
January 2nd, 2023 at 7:51 PM ^
I guess Michigan isn't the only team to shit the bed with stupid fucking play calling on the goal line.
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:58 PM ^
Love to see it!
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:00 PM ^
No…no it doesn’t.
yes…yes it does. 😂
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:31 PM ^
Misery loves company!
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:01 PM ^
Defense under Lincoln Riley has consistently been awful and it was again today. Great win by the Green Wave.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:10 PM ^
Big 12 defenses make for exciting games at least.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:13 PM ^
too soon
like forever too soon
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:32 PM ^
Why? I’m sure glad TCU’s defense was as rough as they were. At least Michigan had a chance. Spot a 21-3 lead to Illinois or Iowa and I would have given up on the game a lot earlier.
And there is never a bad time to dunk on Jim Knowles, who that comment was also aimed at.
January 2nd, 2023 at 7:52 PM ^
Why too soon?
It's not like TCU manhandled Michigan.
Did Michigan's defense throw 2 pick 6s?
Did Michigan's defense fumble on the goal line?
Did Michigan's defense call a trick play on 4th and goal?
Michigan's (nor TCU's) defense wasn't the problem on Saturday.
That's a 28 point swing right there.
January 2nd, 2023 at 8:27 PM ^
Really wish we had called any of the 2-pt conversion plays instead of the Philly special thing. All of those, even the one that didn’t work, were great goal line plays.
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:19 PM ^
Too bad he didn’t hire his brother, the TCU Defensive Coordinator…
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:02 PM ^
Amazing comeback. TD, safety, and TD in the last 4 minutes, plus the drama of the winning TD. What a fun game to watch!
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:03 PM ^
I turned it off too early, was 45-30 SC. Wow. Just an amazing turnaround story, as is TCU (unfortunately).
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:37 PM ^
Me too! Couldn’t stand the announcers any longer. Who thought RG3 was a good hire?
January 2nd, 2023 at 7:53 PM ^
RG3 is good when he's not making Orji jokes or sucking off Caleb.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:03 PM ^
Caleb Williams is supposedly the best QB on the planet, according to some people who are confused, and they still only put up 45 against Tulane. I think Michigan is going to be OK on offense when they clean up their red zone offense this spring.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:04 PM ^
Who’s better than him currently in college football?
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:06 PM ^
Certainly Stroud and maybe others if I thought harder.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:26 PM ^
No. Stroud is not. Stop.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:38 PM ^
The version of stroud that played Georgia and actually ran the damn ball is better than Williams (but Williams is younger so, we’ll see)
January 2nd, 2023 at 7:54 PM ^
Who’s better than him currently in college football?
Utah's QB.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:40 PM ^
Caleb Williams is supposedly the best QB on the planet
Not college QB, planet. Seriously there are people who believe this. But as far as college QBs go, I think I’m taking Drake Maye. I think Williams is one of those guys who lasts about 3 years in the NFL and then maybe is lucky to be a back-up for a few years. Not much longer than that because of his attitude. He’s not a guy you keep around unless he’s winning you a bunch. I also know he’s OSUs QB, so I’ll tread lightly. But if Stroud would have been slightly mobile like he was against Georgia, I think I’m taking Stroud too. Caleb didn’t play any defense near Georgias.
I will say I don’t think Stroud is very successful in the NFL either.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:15 PM ^
He just screams Kyler Murray 2.0 in so many concerning ways. Idk if it’s their Oklahoma connection, their short stature (Caleb is gonna be 5-11 tops IMO), their douchey personas, inflated stats due to Lincoln Riley’s offensive system, or something else, but they are very similar.
I wouldn’t draft him to my team unless I had a massively strong culture and tons of accomplished veterans to keep him in check. Even then, I’m probably not going to want him before the 3rd round - even if some team will inevitably reach on him in the first half of round 1.
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:17 PM ^
What are you even talking about? He dragged an injured leg around for most of the Utah game. He played awful as a result. They couldn't talk him into coming out.
He's enormously popular on that team and in the Los Angeles community.
If you don't like his style choices and flash, that's fine. Not liking his skill set is fine too.
But the guy is a proven warrior and a leader.
January 2nd, 2023 at 7:55 PM ^
But the guy is a proven warrior and a leader.
Yeah... painting "FUCK <team name> on his fingernails is so being a leader.
January 3rd, 2023 at 11:31 AM ^
He just screams Kyler Murray 2.0
Brilliant!
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:32 PM ^
Williams is probably still the best QB but that may just be that there isn't anyone better than a B+ QB in college this year. He does feel like your classic OU QB in that he puts up huge numbers in a very QB friendly offense but I wouldn't remotely draft him early if I was an NFL team. USC and OSU QBs feel like real gambles at this point, even if you want to argue that Kyler has turned out okay.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:03 PM ^
Hard to lose when up 15 with 4:30 to go. Watched the whole 4th quarter.
what an epic meltdown by USC
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:04 PM ^
no it's not.
- LINCOLN
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:04 PM ^
I only caught the last 4 minutes, but totally worth it!!
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:08 PM ^
Amazing game. Although the first 11 guys to post on this thread, could probably move the ball on USC's defense.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:08 PM ^
It was a nailbiter, although I hope Caleb wasn’t biting his nails…wouldn’t want to see him inhale all those paint chips.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:10 PM ^
The biggest regret of this season is that we never got to see a healthy Corum run against this USC defense in round 1 of the playoffs.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:27 PM ^
I don't think we would have played them even if they had gotten in, would we? They were on the outside looking in, so I think they would have snuck into the 4 spot instead of OSU.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:37 PM ^
If they had won the Pac 12 Title game they would have been the 3 seed.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:43 PM ^
Oh you mean because of TCU's loss to K-State? True, good point.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:12 PM ^
I was surprised they gave Tulane that last TD. I mean at least part of the receiver’s foot was outside the endzone so that clearly should have been marked short.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:14 PM ^
Great finish. It hurts seeing an officiating crew correctly review a TD catch, though.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:20 PM ^
VA,
The booth crew who reviewed the call is making me envious.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:22 PM ^
You're not wrong, but at least they completely screwed up another targeting call.
Also, damn, man, I wish refs would stop guessing at things they don't see. I understand calling it a catch if it isn't -- I do. That can be overturned, and often is. But that ref gesticulated incredibly enthusiastically that the pass was incomplete. He clearly NEVER saw it hit the ground (because it didn't). Why are you assuming it hit, if it didn't? Why isn't your default call, if you didn't see the ball hit the ground, a catch? What are you doing?
(It's like refs that make a foul call in basketball when the guy was literally never touched. Your job is to call things that you see happen -- not to guess at what "could" have happened.")
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:45 PM ^
targeting by the USC defender looked equally as egregious as the one in the Michigan game. I don't even know what they're looking at.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:56 PM ^
Agreed. The umpire emphatically signaled that it hit the ground, yet the ruling was overturned.
Worrisome that his reaction was so strong, yet so wrong.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:22 PM ^
Whoops. Second duplicate post deleted. Go Blue! :-)
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:38 PM ^
They still blew the targeting call though.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:24 PM ^
How do you roll up over 500 yards of offense against an inferior opponent, outgain them by double digits, and still lose? I mean, who does that, amirite?
/s 🤮
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:27 PM ^
I was able to pick up what you were putting down, but your post caused me to take a quick look at the box score.
What's amazing is that USC had a 40-20 time of possession advantage and still lost.
