Feels like an upset and makes me happy right now ...

Caleb Williams is supposedly the best QB on the planet, according to some people who are confused, and they still only put up 45 against Tulane. I think Michigan is going to be OK on offense when they clean up their red zone offense this spring.

Not college QB, planet. Seriously there are people who believe this. But as far as college QBs go, I think I’m taking Drake Maye. I think Williams is one of those guys who lasts about 3 years in the NFL and then maybe is lucky to be a back-up for a few years. Not much longer than that because of his attitude. He’s not a guy you keep around unless he’s winning you a bunch. I also know he’s OSUs QB, so I’ll tread lightly. But if Stroud would have been slightly mobile like he was against Georgia, I think I’m taking Stroud too. Caleb didn’t play any defense near Georgias.

I will say I don’t think Stroud is very successful in the NFL either.

He just screams Kyler Murray 2.0 in so many concerning ways. Idk if it’s their Oklahoma connection, their short stature (Caleb is gonna be 5-11 tops IMO), their douchey personas, inflated stats due to Lincoln Riley’s offensive system, or something else, but they are very similar.

I wouldn’t draft him to my team unless I had a massively strong culture and tons of accomplished veterans to keep him in check. Even then, I’m probably not going to want him before the 3rd round - even if some team will inevitably reach on him in the first half of round 1.

What are you even talking about? He dragged an injured leg around for most of the Utah game. He played awful as a result.  They couldn't talk him into coming out.

He's enormously popular on that team and in the Los Angeles community.

If you don't like his style choices and flash, that's fine. Not liking his skill set is fine too.

But the guy is a proven warrior and a leader.

Williams is probably still the best QB but that may just be that there isn't anyone better than a B+ QB in college this year.  He does feel like your classic OU QB in that he puts up huge numbers in a very QB friendly offense but I wouldn't remotely draft him early if I was an NFL team.  USC and OSU QBs feel like real gambles at this point, even if you want to argue that Kyler has turned out okay.

The biggest regret of this season is that we never got to see a healthy Corum run against this USC defense in round 1 of the playoffs.

I was surprised they gave Tulane that last TD. I mean at least part of the receiver’s foot was outside the endzone so that clearly should have been marked short.

You're not wrong, but at least they completely screwed up another targeting call.

Also, damn, man, I wish refs would stop guessing at things they don't see. I understand calling it a catch if it isn't -- I do. That can be overturned, and often is. But that ref gesticulated incredibly enthusiastically that the pass was incomplete. He clearly NEVER saw it hit the ground (because it didn't). Why are you assuming it hit, if it didn't? Why isn't your default call, if you didn't see the ball hit the ground, a catch? What are you doing?

(It's like refs that make a foul call in basketball when the guy was literally never touched. Your job is to call things that you see happen -- not to guess at what "could" have happened.")

How do you roll up over 500 yards of offense against an inferior opponent, outgain them by double digits, and still lose? I mean, who does that, amirite?
