There's more to this than just wanting to keep the board uncluttered IMO Timmy.  Look at what's up right now.  Take down the threads pertaining to the game and how it was stolen and we've got the opportunity to discuss the upcoming softball schedule,  Taysom Hill's injury, Tiger Wood and EMU upcoming bowl game.  Not exactly a murders row of content to be perserved.

I dont think it's a coincidence that Warde Manual issued his whatever the Hell that was yesterday, Brian tells us to stop talking about it and Harbaugh goes radio silent.  None of that makes any sense to me at least -especially when what happened to our team was SO obvious to anyone with eyes to see.

Something's up.

Oh, I agree with that. Something is definitely brewing. My only real problem was with the way that Brian went about shutting it down, not that he did shut it down. There are ways to let people know that what we're doing is counterproductive to what we want to achieve. I just wish he had handled it a little bit differently.

I'm all for clamping down on "snowflake" type threads discussing the refs, or that game in genereal. That shit is annoying. But I think deleting the USA Today article, and the latest post with the video evidence of all the missed calls was poorly done. That was new information, or at least very expanded information, that clearly took a lot of time to assemble. I thought those two threads should have been allowed to stand.

And again (I've said this a few times now); I can see several scenarios in which it would make sense to (mostly) shut down further discussion, for our own collective good. I hope that's what is happening here, I would have liked to see it handled a little bit differently. My guess is that either someone in the AD, or a certain "in the know" poster here gave Brian a heads up that the blog is currently hurting the team's chances.

I guess we'll know soon.

to try to cheer up from my depression. Michigan will drop anywhere from 5 to 7. I'll drink even more if PSU or WI jump us. We will probably stay at #5 to close out the season, assuming we win our bowl game.

I believe five is accurate. Basically saying M is a top-four team but because they lost twice and won't be winning the conference, they won't be in the playoff. But, of course, OSU is the darling child of the Big Ten right now and will still be in the playoff, which is a crock of shit.

I really want to drink whiskey, but I'm having surgery on my face tomorrow, so I can't. Perhaps one of you upstanding folks could consume a couple for me?

I'm going out on a limb and saying that Michigan has a better than 50% chance of making the CFP. I base this on:

ESPN gives Colorado a 36% chance of winning (I think this might be low) and VA Tech a 23% chance of winning.

If Colorado or VA Tech wins (59% chance), I believe the committee will put us ahead of UW, PSU, and CU by virtue of head to head. And ahead of Oklahoma by virtue of they stink.

I fully anticipate another gut punch when somehow we end up #5.

the chances of one or the other is easy to calculate tho

chance of CU winning: 36% (or .36 prob)

chance of VT winning: 23% (or .23)

this means prob of CU NOT winning is .64 and prob of VT NOT winning is .77

the chances of them BOTH NOT winning is thus: .64 * .77 or .49 or 49%

Let's call it 50% to make it easy

Thus, we are at a 50/50 proposition

I think I'll have a nice bitter IPA with a nice home-cooked meal that was simmering on the crock pot all day in advance of this highly anticipated evening.

The last thread which was deleted, was a good thread, with excellent video evidence of what happened Saturday. Clearly a lot of work went into that. It's just a bummer that we are told what we may and may not discuss, regarding a football game. A Michigan Football game.
