Not sure why he's still in the game up 35-7 against a week opponent. It's like playing with fire.
November 16th, 2019 at 1:41 PM ^
Probably because it was the second quarter still. I feel like you wanna give your starting QB at least a half no matter what the score is.
November 16th, 2019 at 1:43 PM ^
I'm not sure why you were down voted. Its true, if Bama is up 28 points thats a wrap. Why mess around and push fate. Let some young kids get in there and get game time experience.

Fuck Saban. He looks to be injury prone. They say he was screaming in pain about his hip.
November 16th, 2019 at 2:21 PM ^
I’ve dislocated a hip - felt the ball out of the socket and pop back in - it f’ing hurts until the adrenaline kicks in - then your good for a few hours until it starts hurting like hell again.
Ouch!

If you look at the video replay, during the tackle Tua did not use his right foot (the one with the surgically repaired ankle) to deccelerate the tackle (favoring it). Since his right foot/leg doesn't cushion/slow-down the his descent to the turf, his bent knee slams directly into the ground with all the force of the tackle (which, from my vantage, and opinion, appears to be what caused the hip injury).
I'm not familiar with the surgical procedure but there can also be a loss of proprioception/reflex after reconstuctive orthopedic surgeries (ACL-Repair being notorious for this).
I absolutely hate to see athletes rushed back too soon from injury (particularly when it's in the context of the meat-grinder that is big-money college athletics where there is such a power imbalance between multi-millionaire head-coaches, billion-dollar athletic programs, bent on winning at all costs, for the hundreds of millions of dollars in profit to be obtained).

Per Saban at halftime interview, Jones was warming up. He wanted Tua to get a two minute drill practice in prior to the half.
November 16th, 2019 at 2:49 PM ^
Sure he did. Doesn't look like such a great idea now.
November 16th, 2019 at 1:51 PM ^
Bama could have a real tough time with Auburn without Tua... I think his days at Bama are over, due to this injury.
November 16th, 2019 at 1:53 PM ^
Saban wants to win so bad he risked an NFL qb by playing him hurt to begin with.
November 16th, 2019 at 1:53 PM ^
After that digital animation last week of the wires screwed into his ankle... Incredible respect for playing like that, but it feels like an indictment of the game to say even that.
November 16th, 2019 at 1:56 PM ^
He makes too much money now and has far more at stake to not keep playing. Saban said they wanted to give him some live reps in the 2-minute offense. Football is a rough game.
That said, at no point have I thought he's a NFL QB. The notion of him being the #1 pick screams 'bust' to me.
November 16th, 2019 at 1:57 PM ^
And I do hope he's alright.
November 16th, 2019 at 1:56 PM ^
Not sure why you would play him against miss. St.
November 16th, 2019 at 1:56 PM ^
The dude had experimental surgery to get back for LSU. Who could have seen this coming
November 16th, 2019 at 2:01 PM ^
he had another tightrope, no? not experimental
November 16th, 2019 at 2:29 PM ^
RCTs are all recent with max f/u of 1 year. Very much still in experimental mode, especially for a guy who has pro career in front of him.
November 16th, 2019 at 1:57 PM ^
He's had a rough season with injuries. Hopefully this is not very bad for him. Despite the fact he plays for Alabama, he is fun to watch and he has a good attitude.
November 16th, 2019 at 1:59 PM ^
Someday on the Devil's desk shall sit a bowl of kitten heads, a bowl of cheez-its, and a bowl of Nick Saban's severed fingers with championship rings still attached...
November 16th, 2019 at 2:05 PM ^
That's just stupid
November 16th, 2019 at 2:50 PM ^
I think it's pretty accurate, I mean what other gross, horrifying, things would you expect to see on the Devil's desk in his office?
November 16th, 2019 at 2:01 PM ^
That is so awful.
Edit: wrong thread.
November 16th, 2019 at 2:05 PM ^
Ambry Thomas well done.
November 16th, 2019 at 2:23 PM ^
I don’t hate to see it. Bama had the kid come back in 2 weeks from a 2 month surgery. WTF do they expect?
November 16th, 2019 at 2:49 PM ^
Well, except it's a different body part.
November 16th, 2019 at 4:25 PM ^
True, but mechanically the body compensates upstream and downstream.
Observing the video replay it's easily arguable the previous injury contributed to the current (horrific) one.
November 16th, 2019 at 3:27 PM ^
Play me the world's smallest violin
November 16th, 2019 at 3:37 PM ^
Anyone brave enough to check out RCMB?
November 16th, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
That's why it is important to make sure neither McCaffrey nor Milton transfer next year.
November 16th, 2019 at 4:20 PM ^
Saban the douche wanted to run up the score and get back in the top 4. Now he might not get a chance. Without Tua, Auburn beats Saban and if LSU beats Georgia only one SEC team gets in as it should be
Fuck the SEC
November 16th, 2019 at 4:58 PM ^
Just read it could be career threatening. Similar injury to what took out Bo Jackson’s career. Sad stuff.
November 16th, 2019 at 5:07 PM ^
He’s done for the year. Dislocated and fractured hip, had to be air lifted to another hospital.
November 16th, 2019 at 5:21 PM ^
If true, I would guess he will never be the same. Why play a guy with his ankle and that lead? Hips are always a crap shoot to fix. Nicky don't care he has his money.
