¯\_(ツ)_/¯

“Every coach, every executive, every leader: They all know right from wrong. Even those Enron guys. When someone uncovers a scandal in their company, I don't think they can say, "I didn't know that was going on." They're just saying they're too dumb to do their job! And if they really are too dumb, then why are they getting paid millions of dollars to do it? They know what's going on.”

The assumption that everyone is making is that Zach Smith did in fact physically abuse Courtney. Honestly, we do not know that. He denied it in the ESPN interview and there are no charges to substantiate that. Even Courtney's photos according to Zach were due to defending himself. Thus we have a 'he said, she said' situation. If he insists this to Urban and OSU, how on earth can Urban fire him for just cause?!

Maybe they are going for "muddy the waters so much that nobody can keep track of timelines on what was reported to who at what time and everybody just dropped the ball. Sorry it won't happen again."... What other card can they play to keep Urban as their coach?

July 23rd

Meyer fires Zach Smith after being charged with trespassing the week before

July 24th

“I got a text late last night saying that something happened in 2015, and there was nothing. I don’t know who creates a story like that,” Meyer said.

Today

"My attention was not to say anything inaccurate or misleading. However, I was not adequately prepared to discuss these sensitive personnel issues with the media"

All he had to say was no comment or we are doing an internal investigation etc and make no comment but instead he makes a statement clearly meant to give the illusion that he just became aware of it

At least he didn't say that he meant to say the word "something" instead of "nothing"

And gave access of 18-22 year old kids and other coaches/staff's wife/kids/family to this piece of shit abuser for 9 years after you initially knew he assaulted HIS FUCKING PREGNANT WIFE!!!!  And now he's trying to come off like he's being portrayed as the victim.  This guy is a fucking sociopath, I hope OSU does the right thing and gets rid of this piece of shit human being!

Buckeyes are really pushing the "Earle Bruce's grandson" sentimental nonsense as a rationalization for Urban keeping this mediocre position coach and recruiter.  And too many of the national media seem to be repeating it, when they should be digging into what compromising information Zach Smith has on Urban.

Didn't he say  (not verbatim "I would have fired him along time ago if I knew back then") something along those lines when he just fired Smith last week?

Things aren't adding up, if that's true.

The stench of corruption coming out of Columbus is unbearable.

He is the Richard Nixon of college football:

--"That statement is no longer operative."

--"I have plausible deniability."

--"I am not a crook."

Honestly I'm more proud of UofM after of this. All of our enemies have shown to be vile, disgusting, morally corrupt pieces of trash. We may have lost some games, but at least our coaches, players and staff aren't allowed to be raoists, batterers, murderers or child molesters. I mean seriously if I didn't hate these other schools before I surely do now. This behavior is unbecoming of a person with even the most foggy moral compass. I'm disgusted. I really am. Sad day for the B1G.

Like Brian said, "it's your job to know"

Except that applies not just to the coach, but to senior leadership within the athletic department and university as a whole, especially when we are talking about a spotlight football program, not men's underwater basket weaving.

I remember when they hired him, several guys on this blog said he'd do amazing things at OSU if he didn't get caught doing something dirty. I didn't consider anything like this at the time. Thought it would be more of the 'recruiting violation' nature or some such thing, but those bloggers who saw this coming are looking awfully smart today.

That excuse really only works when a leader isn’t winning.

It’s a sad fact of life, and it’s not right. But it’s the way of the world. Meyer will survive this because he wins. He’ll get a 3-4 game suspension, he’ll donate a small portion of his salary to charities creating awareness of domestic violence, and all will be forgiven and forgotten.

If this was John Cooper, his ass would’ve already been fired.
