Trey Zeigler likes Adidas
A recent Twitter stalk of Zeigler (@TreyZeigler32) from about an hour ago reveals this post:
"Bay city central tonight going for 13 in a row these new Dwight howard shoes are nice I like being an adidas kid lol"
Most likely not, but I'll hold out hope that this can help our recruiting efforts in any way!

Comfortable shoes, although I wouldn't shoot hoops in them.

i think to really help move us into the upper echelon of basketball recruiting, Michigan needs to sign an exclusive basketball shoe deal with either K-Mart (Al Harrington) or Steve & Barry's (Stephon Marbury).

I don't know much about Ziegler's situation, but shoe companies can have a huge (and often dirty) influence on where kids go. There are a lot of things that go on between AAU coaches and college programs, as well as the reps from Adidas, Nike, and others. The shoe companies run summer camps with the big NBA stars that have deals with those companies, but often only invite players who are offered by the company's schools. For instance, Nike pushes kids to UNC, Kentucky, Florida, and Adidas works for Tennessee, UCLA, and Michigan. I'm not implying that Beilein or anyone on our staff would deal in those borderline illegal recruiting activities, but it could have a bigger impact than you might think at first.

But I thought all the recruits didn't chose us solely based on us not being a Nike school

No, it's obviously because Beilein is a system and "white boy" coach and we should have gotten Tubby Smith.

If I were in charge of business transactions at UM and cared more about the athletes' comfort (particularly their feet) and athletic apparel quality, than understandably about the university's best financial interests (most likely), then I would call the guy at CMU and ask him how I might be able to cop a deal with New Balance. Now those are some goddamn comfortable shoes.

he wore a blue shirt last tuesday

That his Dad is the head coach at CMU, and Adidas "is proud to be the official outfitter of Central Michigan Athletics."
Don't mean to be a downer, but I'm pretty sure his dad has the hook up when it comes to Adidas shoes

The other main competition...

Central isn't endorsed by new balance anymore. They were wearing Adidas this year.

so then who endorses Eastern? Russel Athletics? Keds? Crocs?
