a job ASAP. It's obvious he wants out from under Saban, as did Kiffen etc: the more I pay attention to college football the more obvious it is that Saban is an idiot. I've known for 20 years he's a deuche but the more people that talk about him the more it's obvious he only cares about his image only.

There is only one coach the pro teams want from college football. Hint he coaches at U of M. Michigan offers a lot, but know they have the main draw in all of college football and he isn't going anywhere. After this year Michigan will dominate recruiting I truly believe, so all is well.

Part of the Michigan program cultural rebuild is NOT just changing recruiting expectations such that redshirts aren't an issue due to expectations of player talent EVERY year. It's also an expectation of top COACHING talent. And that means that when our coaches move on to bigger jobs, we should look at it as evidence that we get damned fine coaches here, who we expect to get better opportunities after they refine their skills at Michigan. Then, just like with players, we reload coaches, too. We're becoming not just a destinatiin for the best playing talent, but coaching as well. Tuioti will be replaced by another top rated coaching prospect. And if Harbaugh is doing it properly, other programs will regularly be trying to poach our coaching talent. And coaching talent will regularly be trying to get an opportunity to be a coach at U of M. The moment other programs don't want to hire our coaches, be concerned. And think like winners: this place is a privilege at which to coach. I'm excited to see who wins the contest to fill the vacancy.

It seems a reasonable possibility that it may have been a mutual "decision" given that his impact on recruiting in the last year isn't super obvious.  As for timing, you now have a few weeks to pick someone that could have an immediate impact on the 2017 class.  I guess we'll see if Harbaugh signs someone like that in the next few weeks.
