TomVH gets some MSM pub

Since I'm guessing he won't toot his own horn, I noticed Tom being used as an expert reference in the Detroit News today:
But according to Tom VanHaaren, a recruiting analyst for MGoBlog.com, Rodriguez is continuing an approach that has been consistent at Michigan. “Since 2003, Michigan hasn’t taken more than five in-state commitments and Rich Rodriguez has continued essentially the same trend from the previous staff,” VanHaaren said. “Michigan actually already has four in-state commitments for the 2011 class, which is high for them. 2009 was really the year for MSU that sparked all this conversation, but it was somewhat of an outlier. They had eight in-state commitments that were ranked four-star or higher. To put that into perspective, they only had five in-state commitments ranked four-star or higher from 2005-2008, and have only had four ranked four-star or higher in 2010 and 2011. The 2009 year has kind of sparked a lot of talk for them, but it hasn’t shown to be a consistent trend yet.”

But I was glad to see Tom as a reference. Better than that lawyer down in Florida they talk to every other day.

There have been a handful of in-state guys that we wanted and MSU got. Many of them were MSU all the way and that will always happen. But of the guys with offers to both, we get way more. GS did a post about this, or a few posts. Of head-to-head guys, we still own them.
