TomVH gets some MSM pub
But according to Tom VanHaaren, a recruiting analyst for MGoBlog.com, Rodriguez is continuing an approach that has been consistent at Michigan. “Since 2003, Michigan hasn’t taken more than five in-state commitments and Rich Rodriguez has continued essentially the same trend from the previous staff,” VanHaaren said. “Michigan actually already has four in-state commitments for the 2011 class, which is high for them. 2009 was really the year for MSU that sparked all this conversation, but it was somewhat of an outlier. They had eight in-state commitments that were ranked four-star or higher. To put that into perspective, they only had five in-state commitments ranked four-star or higher from 2005-2008, and have only had four ranked four-star or higher in 2010 and 2011. The 2009 year has kind of sparked a lot of talk for them, but it hasn’t shown to be a consistent trend yet.”http://www.detnews.com/article/20101007/SPORTS0201/10070357/1131/sports… The rest is more "MSU is taking all the best recruits in the State" blather; expected, since the article is by the MSU beat writer. But I was glad to see Tom as a reference. Better than that lawyer down in Florida they talk to every other day.

Actually he did toot his own horn on his twitter account. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I could hear all the brains of MSU fans locking up when the got to that word.

I envision hundreds of Spartans scrambling for the dictionary, convinced that Tom just paid them a huge compliment by calling their 2009 recruiting class an "outlier", only to be disappointed when coming across the actual definition.

Aside from Gholston (would wasn't coming to Michigan for several reasons) has RR lost anyone he actually wanted instate?
October 7th, 2010 at 2:33 PM ^
he'd like having Lawrence Thomas in the fold this year.
October 7th, 2010 at 2:47 PM ^
But he wasn't coming to Michigan regardless of who the coach is because Carr "mistreated" Carson Butler.
