Tom, any news on Raper?

Submitted by usmc2515 on
In your post yesterday you mentioned RR would let him know today if he was going to extend an offer. Have you heard anything?

I was just about to post something similar to this, but decided I would just wait because I'm sure Tom will announce that when he gets word. I hope we do offer him. He looks like a burner on film and who couldn't use more speed? Mr. Raper come on down!!!

Some with more delicate sensibilites may be offended, but this guy has to be play D. The lines are endless. Prepare to meet your Raper. Raper just took Pryor behind the shed and had his way with him

When I first signed on here in July I had that OSU mullet guy as my avatar. Then I go to the Utah game, first game of the year, and the guy directly in front of me (and it's the Big House so he's almost sitting in my lap) has the most god-awful mullet I've ever seen in person, complete with blue bandana and Oakley Blades. It was like 10,000 spoons...well you get the point. Can someone tell me how to post a picture on here? I snapped a picture of the guy with my phone. It would really help the story.

dude, i love your comments but you need to relax. remember that you are reading these comments online by people you don't know. i guess i don't understand why you actually wouldn't want a guy on our team who could definitely contribute because a small minority of fans will make 'offensive' jokes out of his name. this shouldn't offend you in any way.

Chitown you really need to chill out. Who cares, seriously? Anyways, some of the rape jokes are actually funny and I really do hope this kid commits because he would greatly enhance our team speed. If he doesn't pan out, then so be it, but at the very least he'll increase our practice tempo with his "jets" and provide some extra competition for some skill positions.

Its so funny how these online communities work. I have a few other hobbies, and the de-facto forum for one of my other hobbies has these guys that post comments all day long in the most pithy patronizing/condescending tone about the right way to think about things, how things really are, etc... Its pathetic.

I want the kid here because he wants to be here. But I share Chi's sentiments. Those Beaver jokes aren't funny for a third graders sense of humour. The Raper jokes...They aren't funny period...not even if I am drunk at a comedy club sitting next to a clown wearing a shirt that says I'm with stupid (points at Craven)while a group of midgets straight out of a scene from the wizards of oz tickled me with a thousand feathers from a doe doe bird.

Very descriptive, but I saw a comedian last week (Daniel Tosh, if you don't know who he is youtube him immediately) and he told a rape joke and it was very very funny. I'm sure you would have laughed. Not saying I'm down with rape or anything, but you would have been the only one there not laughing.

Jokes either work or they don't. In today's politically correct society, the pendulum has swung too far toward taking the humor out of life. Even John Prine has taken this verse out of his live performances of "Pretty Good:" Molly went to Arkansas, she got raped by a diamond's dog Well, she was doing good till she went in the woods And got pinned up against a log Pretty good, not bad, she can't complain Cause actually all them dogs is just about the same Sad comment; the song, and the verse, within the context of the song, were pretty funny. But now we have people to tell us what it is and isn't OK to laugh at. I prefer to let 'er rip and if people laugh, great; if they don't, that's great, too. For me, the bottom line is that most people are perfectly capable of deciding what they think is funny and what they think isn't. And who the fuck am I to tell someone who is laughing that their joke wasn't funny? And, for the record, I thought many of the Beaver jokes were funny. Some of them could probably be judged as stupid, but I don't stop to judge the intellect of a joke before I laugh, unless it is Steven Wright-style humor, and you have to or you don't get the joke. But I can see how a steady diet of them, just like a steady diet of any one joke, would get old after awhile. And if they did, people would stop. Whether they were told to or not.

The kid looked good on film. It would be a loss in my opinion if we passed on him. Still, perhaps Rich Rod has someone else on the horizon or something. After pulling in 22 recruits with a 3-9 record I won't soon question his methods. Man, I must say that bluebloodedfan is tough. That would make me laugh in a second. The raper/beaver joke would probably bring me back down to earth though.....But oh how those midgets make me laugh!!!!
