Ticket Entry ?

Submitted by Boner Stabone on August 28th, 2023 at 3:07 PM

Need some help.

I just purchased 2 tickets for Saturday's game.  I am super excited to take my 9 year old son to his first Michigan game.  However, as the tickets were sent to my email I read the fine print that no paper copies of the tickets will be accepted.  This is a problem since I do not have a phone.  Is there a way to still get into the game without a paper print out or am I screwed?

Any help a ticket person can give me would be much appreciated.  Thanks

My God. It's amazing that civilization managed to get us to this point seeing as how prior generations didn't have cell phones or smartphones. What hardy pioneers!

Seriously ... This is good to know. Smartphones can crap out and, if it happens on the way to the game, it's nice to know that there's an alternative.

Went on a work trip overseas.  My coworker only had internet on his phone.  The hotel gave him a map and he had no idea how to use it.  He's only 10 years younger than me, but I was surprised how an early 30s very smart guy didn't know how to use a map.

Weird how I used to fly into somewhere, get a rental car, and grab a local map, and figure out how I was getting everywhere from there.  I use my phone now, like everyone else (minus the bone man) but glad to know I can still function if it's not working using old school methods.

Crazy how much things change.  I'm sure my ranching ancestors would be equally baffled at my inabilty to ride a horse through the country and not get absolutely lost.

It appears (almost) the entire Michigan web site environment is down.   It's been that way since early afternoon yesterday (Sunday, August 27th).

My assumption is - the Athletic Department is impacted too.

The only application that is currently available is the student scheduling system.

More systems are expected to be available throughout the week.

I have kids enrolled at Michigan - and, I also have tickets for Saturday's game to download.

If you try "www.umich.edu" - the home page should list a status.

I hope this helps...

re the U-M internet outage:

"Important update on campus IT outage

To the university community:

We recognize that cutting off online services to our campus community on the eve of a new academic year is stressful and a major inconvenience. We sincerely apologize for the disruption this has caused.

Our Information Assurance team, in partnership with leading cybersecurity service providers, detects, deflects, and mitigates a steady stream of malicious actors every hour of every day.

Sunday afternoon, after careful evaluation of a significant security concern, we made the intentional decision to sever our ties to the internet. We took this action to provide our information technology teams the space required to address the issue in the safest possible manner.

The team is working around the clock and already has restored access to some systems. Updates will be available on umich.edu and on @umichtech on Twitter.

That said, it may be several days before all online services return to their normal levels."

I have no current relationship with U-M but if I did statements like this would NOT reassure me:

"Our Information Assurance team, in partnership with leading cybersecurity service providers, detects, deflects, and mitigates a steady stream of malicious actors every hour of every day."

Sounds like Hal from 2001 Space Odyssey got hisself a thesaurus.

I live too far and haven’t been to a game In forever. Are there no longer real tickets?  Can I not show up on a Saturday morning for a game and just buy a ticket in the “resale” market on Greene?

There's a will call at Crisler where they will print out tickets for you. You have to call them ahead of time. I use it because I'm a ticket hoarder.

Does anyone order tickets off of StubHub? My Dad bought me tickets for my graduation for my Master’s.  I haven’t been to a game in about 4 years now and I haven’t used StubHub before. It initially said the tickets would be ready two days before the game and then I got an email saying they were ready but they aren’t in my email or in the account. This is for the Rutgers game.

I don't use StubHub, but on ticketIQ you can view your tickets under your account.  There has been one time I had to log into the Michigan Athletics app to retrieve the tickets.  The ticket holder transferred the tickets over the app to the email on account with ticketIQ.  Had to create an account with that email on the Michigan Athletics App.
