Ticket Entry ?
Need some help.
I just purchased 2 tickets for Saturday's game. I am super excited to take my 9 year old son to his first Michigan game. However, as the tickets were sent to my email I read the fine print that no paper copies of the tickets will be accepted. This is a problem since I do not have a phone. Is there a way to still get into the game without a paper print out or am I screwed?
Any help a ticket person can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks

Buy a phone before the game then return it after.
Seriously, how do you function without a phone?
August 28th, 2023 at 3:19 PM ^
Don't need a phone. Been functioning without one for decades. I lead a simple life.
August 28th, 2023 at 3:26 PM ^
Maybe carry your laptop in with you. 😄
I would call the ticket office and ask them what to do.
August 28th, 2023 at 3:30 PM ^
Thanks Blue Eyes. Love the laptop joke!
I just called them and they said to stop at Crisler on game day to have tickets printed out for us.
Now the rest of the board can carry on and crucify me for not having a phone. :)

Just drove by Boner Stabone's house and took this shot with my flip phone. Maybe a Go Blue Fund Me is in order.

Crucify? I envy you lol!

My God. It's amazing that civilization managed to get us to this point seeing as how prior generations didn't have cell phones or smartphones. What hardy pioneers!
Seriously ... This is good to know. Smartphones can crap out and, if it happens on the way to the game, it's nice to know that there's an alternative.

Went on a work trip overseas. My coworker only had internet on his phone. The hotel gave him a map and he had no idea how to use it. He's only 10 years younger than me, but I was surprised how an early 30s very smart guy didn't know how to use a map.
Weird how I used to fly into somewhere, get a rental car, and grab a local map, and figure out how I was getting everywhere from there. I use my phone now, like everyone else (minus the bone man) but glad to know I can still function if it's not working using old school methods.
Crazy how much things change. I'm sure my ranching ancestors would be equally baffled at my inabilty to ride a horse through the country and not get absolutely lost.

When I dropped my ticket before going into the MSU game several years ago it cost me $15 for the reprint so be prepared for about $30 bucks for the two tickets. Just a heads up.
Enjoy the game with your son!!
Go Blue!!!!

You may not have a phone, but at least you have a boner, so all is good.
August 28th, 2023 at 3:27 PM ^
Seems like you do need one, just not a plan. You can buy a cheap older model and use wifi to download the tickets. It's basically an iPod Touch at that point. Swappa has some old unlocked Pixels and iPhones for $65 or so.
August 28th, 2023 at 3:58 PM ^
I take it you never travel or go anyplace by yourself where having a phone could be a literal life-saver.
August 28th, 2023 at 4:05 PM ^
Yeah, having a kid and no mobile phone isn’t safe and fairly close to parenting malpractice
August 28th, 2023 at 4:55 PM ^
what a take....Yikes
August 28th, 2023 at 5:52 PM ^
Oh No it's not
August 28th, 2023 at 6:12 PM ^
Much respect to your simple life. Just curious...what line of work are you in where you don't need a phone?
August 28th, 2023 at 9:07 PM ^
Elementary Education. My Laptop does everything for me. If I need to make a phone call to a parent I just use the school phone.
August 28th, 2023 at 6:00 PM ^
Email your tickets to me, you can walk In behind me, I can show the attendees your bar code and you are set

Stabone is equivalent to Yoder. Phone’s are a no-go.

Is anyone else having trouble logging into the Michigan app? Trying to get my tickets but it keeps giving a UserMigration error
August 28th, 2023 at 3:25 PM ^
I had some issues over the weekend and couldn’t log in and then all of a sudden I could. Seems fine today. I just transferred some tickets about an hour ago.
August 28th, 2023 at 3:39 PM ^
Yeah I randomly got it to work after trying like 10 times and restarting the app a bunch

It appears (almost) the entire Michigan web site environment is down. It's been that way since early afternoon yesterday (Sunday, August 27th).
My assumption is - the Athletic Department is impacted too.
The only application that is currently available is the student scheduling system.
More systems are expected to be available throughout the week.
I have kids enrolled at Michigan - and, I also have tickets for Saturday's game to download.
If you try "www.umich.edu" - the home page should list a status.
I hope this helps...

I had the same problem and emailed the ticket office.. they said on the main screen, goto 'continue as guest' and it will log you in.. it worked for me doing that.

My wife has a phone, but she needs it for Saturday since she is not going to the game with us.
August 28th, 2023 at 3:39 PM ^
How is it your wife hasn’t complained about her inability to text or call you in an “emergency”?

Maybe he has a pager?

send the tickets to me and then we can meet and go into the stadium together. or let me know where you park your dinosaur and i'll meet you there
August 29th, 2023 at 7:24 AM ^
You will laugh at my next revelation. I drive a 2002 Chevy Cavalier with 270,000 miles on it, so yes it is the equivalent to a dinosaur.

re the U-M internet outage:
"Important update on campus IT outage
To the university community:
We recognize that cutting off online services to our campus community on the eve of a new academic year is stressful and a major inconvenience. We sincerely apologize for the disruption this has caused.
Our Information Assurance team, in partnership with leading cybersecurity service providers, detects, deflects, and mitigates a steady stream of malicious actors every hour of every day.
Sunday afternoon, after careful evaluation of a significant security concern, we made the intentional decision to sever our ties to the internet. We took this action to provide our information technology teams the space required to address the issue in the safest possible manner.
The team is working around the clock and already has restored access to some systems. Updates will be available on umich.edu and on @umichtech on Twitter.
That said, it may be several days before all online services return to their normal levels."
August 28th, 2023 at 5:22 PM ^
I have no current relationship with U-M but if I did statements like this would NOT reassure me:
"Our Information Assurance team, in partnership with leading cybersecurity service providers, detects, deflects, and mitigates a steady stream of malicious actors every hour of every day."
Sounds like Hal from 2001 Space Odyssey got hisself a thesaurus.
August 28th, 2023 at 5:29 PM ^
I have a current relationship with U-M - season ticket holder - parent of students - alumnus - etc.
When I saw that announcement - a certain word which I shall not utter - came to mind.
August 29th, 2023 at 12:56 AM ^
All that means is that UM is on par with any large corporation. My company’s information security team does the same thing — and, yes, there are attacks every hour of every day.
August 28th, 2023 at 6:08 PM ^
YIKES. My previous employer got cyber attacked a few years ago and had to take similar action… we weren’t running at 100% for a long time. Hopefully the University can handle this more quickly.
August 28th, 2023 at 10:48 PM ^
Definitely sounds like a cyber attack. There are a few of these outages going on around the world.
I would think UM would have all the latest protections. Perhaps they are off line until they can load the last clean backup and patch any holes.

I live too far and haven’t been to a game In forever. Are there no longer real tickets? Can I not show up on a Saturday morning for a game and just buy a ticket in the “resale” market on Greene?
August 28th, 2023 at 3:53 PM ^
There are, but only season ticket holders can opt to receive paper tickets. OP bought single game tix and those are electronic delivery. With each passing year, there’s less paper tix available as more season ticket holders opt for electronic.
August 28th, 2023 at 4:09 PM ^
This is the last year paper tickets will be available for season ticket holders.
August 28th, 2023 at 6:18 PM ^
....and they look like nothing, really nothing. 😥
August 28th, 2023 at 6:58 PM ^
Yea, just looked at mine for the first time. They’re very plain and look similar to the old Ticket Master ones you’d get in the 90s.
August 28th, 2023 at 8:22 PM ^
Lol, first I thought I was being punked.
August 28th, 2023 at 4:09 PM ^
Doesn't have a phone yet has over 20,000 points on an internet message board...
August 28th, 2023 at 4:22 PM ^
There's a will call at Crisler where they will print out tickets for you. You have to call them ahead of time. I use it because I'm a ticket hoarder.
August 29th, 2023 at 9:43 AM ^
Show us your ticket stash.
August 28th, 2023 at 5:30 PM ^
How the hell do you have a 9 year old, but not a phone?
August 28th, 2023 at 5:52 PM ^
Use your son's phone.

Does anyone order tickets off of StubHub? My Dad bought me tickets for my graduation for my Master’s. I haven’t been to a game in about 4 years now and I haven’t used StubHub before. It initially said the tickets would be ready two days before the game and then I got an email saying they were ready but they aren’t in my email or in the account. This is for the Rutgers game.
August 29th, 2023 at 8:57 AM ^
I don't use StubHub, but on ticketIQ you can view your tickets under your account. There has been one time I had to log into the Michigan Athletics app to retrieve the tickets. The ticket holder transferred the tickets over the app to the email on account with ticketIQ. Had to create an account with that email on the Michigan Athletics App.
