There Will Be Boos?(!) MSU roll Call.

Submitted by scanner blue on

Friday will be the first home hockey game since Dec. 10 and the team has gone 1-3 and the one win was almost gifted to Sparty at the Joe. My question is wether there will be apathy or anger at Yost if we still have lackluster play. Brian refuses to talk hockey on the Mgoroundtable and I don't remember much on this site. Are you going, and could you boo Red or the team?

While I don't support booing a team, the average age on the Hockey team is over 20 years.  These are NOT kids.  Why do so many people insist on referring to college athletes as kids?  They aren't kids, they are adults in every sense of the word.

Boo.  Boo anyone who boos Red.

It is certainly time for Warde Manuel to get Mel Pearson in town to succeed Red.  But in the meantime, support the team, and support the man who made Michigan into a persistent power after years in the doldrums.

If you really want to get Warde's attention stay home. The biggest catalyst for the Hoke regime change wasn't the record IMO-it was the empty seats at the game and the looming collapse of season ticket sales in 2015 if he stayed.

The OP can't remember much... hockey content on the site?

Yeah, hasn't been a lot to talk about. But Brian did write a game/weekend column on Monday (tldr: this team stinks). And there are the game stories by Nasternak in the diary section.

Booing the team is a really, really bad idea.

Interest in hockey and basketball. Its hard to fathom how low these programs have sunk and it appears our AD IS MIA.

The basketball team was on their way to the NCAA tournament when he officially started.  Same for the hockey team.  So there was nothing really he could've done outside of allowing Red to retire, and I didn't think that was confirmed that Red wanted to do that.

Manuel coming out right now and giving the dreaded vote of confidence or saying "we'll evaluate things after the season" would be just as bad as this thread.  I'm sure we'll hear something from him after the season if both teams continue this trajectory.

Two things I've never done -- boo a Michigan team, and leave a Michigan game early in any sport. Rain, snow, cold, blow-out, whatever. Come prepared, give it your all, leave spent.
