There is Some Semi-interesting Football Today

Submitted by xtramelanin on November 23rd, 2018 at 7:36 AM

Mates,

I came across today's football schedule and there are some fairly interesting games.  Among the games that might be worthy of some viewing include

Nebraska +9  @ Iowa         Noon    Take Nebraska and the points, they're on a roll

UCF                @  USF         4:15   Would be more interesting of USF wasn't on a 4 game losing streak.

Oklahoma - 3.5 @  WVU     8:00    Defense optional: the O/U is 85 pts.  Wow.

UW + 2.5 @   WSU             8:30  the O/U on that one is 50.5 pts.  Take the over

Some other rivalry games include UVA vs. V-Tech, but V-Tech has lost 4 straight so not so scintillating.  Oregon v. Oregon St. is much like that, too.  And a shout out for the EMU v. Kent St. game.  While many of us pull for EMU, #76 for Kent St. is their starting right guard and a Michigan football legacy who camped at U of M, but alas, no offer was forthcoming.

I hope you all have the day off and can continue to enjoy your families, friends, and leftovers from yesterday.  Take care and Go Blue!

Here in Norman OK. with the mgowife and her family. They are pumped for the game but not quite as confident for the win. Lack of anything that resembles a defense has taken some wind from their sails. Will be hard to watch for sure. Hope Sooners win. Want to see them beat Texas in a rematch. It is all irrelevant though because.... THE GAME tomorrow where defense will be the star for UM. Will be listening to my Permain Panthers take on my sons alma mater Arlington Lamar Vikings in second round of Texas HS Playoffs. Good football next couple days. Love this time of year!!!

GO BLUE from behind enemy lines in Norman OK.

The lack of defense will be disgusting, but I wouldn't call that score fest "hard to watch"!  That will be some exciting stuff, filled with big plays from both teams all night.  And it sounds like you will have an awesome place to watch - unless you're pulling for WVU!  Enjoy the game with all of its home fan's joy and agony wrapped up in it!

I realize Michigan is almost surely in over Oklahoma if both win out, but I'm still rooting for WVU just in case. I'm less worried about Wazzu so I'm rooting for them over Washington. Also rooting for Georgia Tech, Auburn, and USCx2 of course on Saturday.

Edit: I realized after posting I would be WVU even if it didn't benefit Michigan. Of course I'd root for the underdog, currently and historically.

"V-Tech has lost 4 straight so not so scintillating."

Maybe it still is for them.  Do you think they give 2 shits about OSU - Michigan?

original info was given to me in confidence and it must stay that way.  i apologize if that makes it seem like secret squirrel stuff, but my regular day job requires that a lot also, and it is what it is.

thanksgiving was wonderful, and i hope the same for you and yours.  did you say you gave up your season tix this past year?  if so, i hope you regret that in the most joyful way.  win or lose tomorrow, we are in for 9-11 win seasons for the foreseeable future.

Two things:

1) You didn't post the fancy schmancy graphic link that M-Dog always has.  (But this is okay, you're a rook on these posts and Dog is a seasoned vet!)

2) +1 for use of "scintillating" - that's not a word we get to see very often!

The UW-WSU and OU-WVU games are must watch TV.  I don't know why we had all the fuss last week about that NFL game, we see that every week in college!  CFB ROCKS!!!

Oooh, caught me napping.

Here's a fancy schmancy schedule link with some nice aesthetically pleasing graphics:

I'll be out of town tomorrow, somebody will have to pick up the slack on the College Game Day thread and the Saturday Schedule of Games thread.

Of course, there is only one game tomorrow, so it will be kind of easy.

We'll cover your slack.  I've already told the wife I'll be out of contact and inaccessible by 9AM tomorrow morning.  She doesn't care about football and sometimes will joke about getting the kid a scarlet and gray shirt.  This time, though, she knows better.  She's pulling hard for Michigan to win, which is good.  Even if she's only doing it so I'm not in a foul mood the rest of the weekend...
