Thank You Captain Obvious- Michigan has best uniforms in the BIG
According to ESPN's poll
http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post/_/id/79388/michigan-wolverines-win-…
Tell me something I didn't know. I'm not 100% sure if this was Michigan's fan base just dominating the poll or if the rest of the BIG actually agrees (putting bias aside). I do like OSU's uniforms compared to other BIG teams.
[Edit: The Big Ten Network's poll just reposted by ESPN]
Because recruits and potential new young fans under 18 typically relate more to "fresh" than "classic." The key is dabbling with "fresh" without compromising too much in the way of "classic." Everyone will have a different opinion though as to where the line is drawn.
While I don't think M needs to be like Oregon with a new uniform weekly, it is good to have some different uniforms from time to time. That being said, I still think the normal home uniform is the best in all of sports.
thing Maryland's AWESOME UNIFORMZZZZ were not included in the poll...We'd be screwed!

Needs more smoke machine!
But I'm going to have to vote for Wisconsin when the "Best nachos in the B1G" poll gets conducted. I'd guess pretzels as well, but can't say I have first hand knowledge. I also think best on-field painted yardage markers should be interesting, I really like how Purdue marks the goalline with a "G", very informative.
Shouldn't the nacho poll just end in a tie? I mean, everyone is contractually obligated to use Ro*Tel, right?...
It's more than obvious that Michigan has the best and/or most iconic uniforms in college football (let alone the B1G). These polls are just to garner clicks by rallying the fanbases from other B1G teams, as well as by trolling the U of M fanbase in to fighting off pointless poll results may actually dare to say some other team has a better get up than our's.
I think NU got screwed here. Uniforms of the past may have been pretty lame, but the new ones with the stripe across the middle are pretty bad ass. A traditional school (i.e. Michigan) wouldn't be able to pull it off, but for a school like Northwestern, they are the perfect selling point for the KIDS!
[Edit]: Not that I think they deserve 1st place, but I would place them in the 3-4 range.
Honestly, their* white jerseys with the purple stripe is on-point. If i were them, i'd actually make that the home game jersey (a la LSU.)
I was going to post a picture of the white jersey, but did not see one with the light saber. So doing so would have been ludicrous.
The BTN site breaks down the data a little bit (LINK).
According to their notes, Michigan was never lower than 4th in any given ranking by the writers, and we also received 6 first place votes, which was the most of any school. Indiana actually received the most last place votes, and Northwestern and Minnesota have the distinction of having one first place as well as one last place vote.
Sparty's gonna Spart. Chris Vannini of the Only Colors can't resist being a Spartan:
The blue jersey is simple and traditional, and although Michigan didn’t invent the winged helmet, they’ve become synonymous with it.
Michigan didn't invent the winged helmet? lol Sparty
Fritz Crisler did, at Princeton, and he brought it here.
Gotta love those Spartans. MUST SAY SCUMM NO INVENT THAR HELMETS!!!! MUST NOT BE LITTL BROTHER!!!!! MSU SHOULD OF PLAYED IN 2012 SUGAR BOWL OMG ITS A CONPSIRACY!!! FFFFFFF UUUUU SCUMMMM TRUST COACH D
In reading the article and points breakdown from BTN and linked by LSAClassof2000 above, I noticed that Michigan won with a final tally of 134 points. 134. It was meant to be.
Of course it could also be the obvious choice...
Surprisingly, only the Minnesota and Michigan writers put their own teams first. I would have expected more homerism.
In Minnesota's case, their next highest ranking was #7....brutal.
