That's a good win for Texas after a bad first week, similar to us.

Well, to be fair, Texas lost to a nobody, but has beaten 2 ranked teams in their last 3 wins. We lost to a ranked team, and have beaten up three tomato cans since...

I would be surprised if both of those teams actually finish in the top 25.

I know what you're getting at, but in my 472 years of watching college football I have learned that rarely can you take away highly predictive lessons by comparing how two different teams played against a common opponent. Plus, one was at home, the other away. One was at night, the other the day. One was with Urbs, the other with Day. (Wow, I just became unintentionally poetic...)

True, but OSU's defense also looked awful against spread Oregon State. Their back 7 has been awful since last year. This game @ Penn St. will tell us a lot about OSU's D.

So OSU isn't as good as we think ?
September 22nd, 2018 at 8:20 PM ^
Aye, they put their pants on one leg at a time just like we do!

Yeah, like FauxMo, I hesitate to draw any conclusions about our schedule from this.
I'm just pissed Texas won. I have enjoyed seeing them suck in recent times.

wrong movie? richard gere and lou gossett?
September 22nd, 2018 at 9:43 PM ^
Full Metal Jacket is the correct movie for the quote, but wrong character. Richard Gere, Officer and a Gentleman, played the progeny of a GI and an unspecified Asian mother, so had no direct connection to TX.

google says i'm right, therefore i stand vindicated by a cyber referee.
officer and a gentleman was first to use the line in '82. FMJ used it too, yrs later.
the more you know

It was used in both, my friend. I just picked the far superior movie to quote ;-)

when you get my age, you will be checking your memory banks regularly. when vindicated, you will silently cheer....

Come on, show some sympathy for fellow sufferers. Texas is just further back in the rebuilding process that we are. But what there fans have been going through is pretty familiar to us.
September 22nd, 2018 at 9:16 PM ^
Fuck Texas and any sympathy for them
September 22nd, 2018 at 9:23 PM ^
Texas destroyed a conference with their greed and launched their own TV channel. I have no love for them.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:26 PM ^
Of course Texas becomes decent right after I leave Austin.

In the future, could you please not put scores or results in the title? I, and I'm sure others, can't watch every game live and would appreciate no spoilers in the thread title.
September 22nd, 2018 at 8:10 PM ^
you're kind of on a college sports blog tho.
September 22nd, 2018 at 9:55 PM ^
It's a Michigan sports blog. I have no expectation for spoiler free titles regarding Michigan sports. It would be nice to be able to come here for piping hot takes after Michigan games without getting scores to games I haven't watched. I don't think it really takes anything away to title the post "TCU vs Texas" instead of the score.

This is satire right? Like The Onion? Shirley you cannot be serious!?

He’s serious & don’t call him Shirley

Texas upset TCU?? Please. Texas sucks and this doesn't deserve a thread
September 22nd, 2018 at 8:19 PM ^
Should’ve made this thread about ODU and VT
September 22nd, 2018 at 8:28 PM ^
Another spot in the polls.
September 22nd, 2018 at 8:31 PM ^
Yup. You've gotta think we go up at least 2 if not 3-4 spots. Not that it matters, but it's nice to see us climbing after getting absolutely hammered disproportionately after the ND loss.
September 22nd, 2018 at 8:43 PM ^
Meh. You could make a convincing case that everyone except for Alabama just isn't that good this year.
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:24 PM ^
Md is better than osu confirmed
fear the turtle

TCU upset themselves coughing the ball up every chance they got.
