Team efficiencies through 3 weeks
Offensive and defensive efficiencies through weeks 1-3 via Twitter user @cover2figuRes. B1G things that stand out:
- LOLIowa
- Maryland isn't elite, but they will be night-and-day better than the garbage we've played so far.
- I'm not sure how Rutgers has managed to be 3-0. Very impressive.

These will change drastically as conference play ramps up.

Early season statistics are like early season rankings. Until you are at least halfway though your tougher conference games, early season items make the fan base feel good but don't tell much of a story, particularly when the level of competition is weak.
I've been burned too many times to believe early season press clippings and then get burned when reality strikes home.
Having said that, 3-0 is still 3-0.

Other items of note
- good thing 'Bama still has Defense
- OSU's defense doesn't look that much better
- Rutgers, Indiana, and Texas - triangle of Hell.
- Who knew Nebby's Offense would be better than Clemson, Maryland, and Penn State?
September 18th, 2022 at 11:29 AM ^
I kind of disagree about OSU's defense - they look OK but better than last year. But when you think about it, there was nowhere to go but up. That Toledo QB is dangerous and made a few things happen - which concerns me somewhat about Tua - Maryland. He's the same type of QB.
Iowa? A trainwreck. Not concerned about them - at least not like I was at the beginning of the season.

I cant wait to see Iowa’s offense vs Nebraska’s defense — the easily-resisted force against the totally-movable object. Its like multiplying near-infinity by near-zero, you cant know what you’re going to get.

Cold fusion?
September 18th, 2022 at 1:48 PM ^
Gonna be a barn burner.
17-10. Ferentz goes all wet cement paced offense while Nebraska is gifted some kind of special teams/defensive TD.

Thanks for sharing - an interesting chart and of course will change over the next few weeks.
It does make me wonder if the x and y axis scale would need to change to show the putrescence of CSU, Hawaii, and UConn
September 18th, 2022 at 11:33 AM ^
UConn, as an independent, should be on the chart. There is a husky by Auburn. Is that them?
September 18th, 2022 at 12:16 PM ^
Yep, that looks like UConn. The original tweet also had a reply with the G5. Hawaii and CSU both look middling-to-bad defensively and really bad offensovely.

Fire up Chips!

I guess Cincy's gonna Cincy.
...probably can't replicate efficiency much closer than that.

Hawaii actually got a win yesterday, beating Duquesne 24-14. Good for them. The small number of fans that came in town last week seemed pretty nice.

Georgia = wow
September 18th, 2022 at 11:42 AM ^
They are great - Just not as efficient as Michigan on D 😉

Uhh Oregon/USC(NTUSC) vs our baby seals might explain that delta.

Minnesota looks dangerous this season. They're the favorites to win the west at this point. No doubt about it. Looking forward to seeing them in the championship this season. ;)
September 18th, 2022 at 11:18 AM ^
Unfortunately, they lost their best WR just before sparty game
September 18th, 2022 at 11:31 AM ^
Luckily for Minnesota, Sparty can't cover any receiver.
September 18th, 2022 at 11:31 AM ^
Upper right - nice!

I think we’re all sleeping on the offensive juggernaut that is the Kansas Jayhawks
September 18th, 2022 at 12:31 PM ^
The sad reality of it is, it wont last beyond this season. Their coach is a goner for a big-time program and some QB-needy school w way larger NLI’s will get their QB to xfer. I mean its almost hard to root for their success because it begets its own failure.
September 18th, 2022 at 12:37 PM ^
They might get lucky. Lance Leipold is 58 and may be at a point where he doesn't want to move on, at least not now - and then in a couple years, programs might decide he's too close to retirement age.

Beyond irrelevant given all the patsies everyone plays, other than the fact that Georgia is the new Alabama.
September 18th, 2022 at 1:14 PM ^
Iowa sure looks lonely wayout on the left hand corner.
September 18th, 2022 at 1:40 PM ^
I know “no politics” et al but this is the first time ever you could say Iowa is to the faaaar left of the entire rest of the country.
September 19th, 2022 at 10:28 AM ^
Sure the Washington Huskies look good.... but they haven't played anyone yet!
BWAHAHAHAHA
