Tact or sarcasm: watch party "conference camaraderie"?
I just got the following invitation from the Big Apple Big Ten to watch the championship game, and can't tell if they're trying to be polite ("We're all friendly") or sliding in a sarcastic shiv:
"Whether your team is playing in Saturday’s Championship Game or had a season you’d rather not remember, join Big Apple Big Ten in raising a glass to another year of conference camaraderie!"

The closest thing to it came from the team we play. Ferentz is like Harbaugh in that he would rather go 0-12 than cheat the game. Hayden Frye, Bo, Lloyd, Alvarez. You may not like some of those names but those guys arent ever cheating and neither would Jim.

Yes. I've read the Ferentz hung up when the coaches call turned into a shitfest, and Beth Goetz blew off the AD shitshow.
I was glad to see that (and willing to believe it) because I like Iowa and its fans.

I can't get too mad at Iowa and I do appreciate this if true. But I would have really liked if Kirk had spoken up a few weeks ago, similar to Deion, and said out loud that this is not the worst crime in the history of sports. I know it's probably asking a lot, he doesn't owe Michigan anything. But if anyone in the conference could have gone to bat for us publicly without any repercussion, it was him.

Hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. You can't go wrong with assuming kindness and treating other people with it. I'd imagine something like this will mostly be Michigan folks anyways? Can't imagine too many other fanbases are excited to watch.

I admire the tenor of this reply. And "year you'd rather not remember" is likely a reference to teams that lost lots of games.

My posting was mostly a joking observation.
As for the gathering itself, I'm sure it will be fun. Plus, there's likely to be a Michigan gathering somewhere.

I used to live a block from that bar in the 2000s. It was the Missouri football bar (which I discovered when I saw a block M flag outside the bar, wandered in, and got confused by a bunch of Missouri fans).
