The insurance policies are to protect you if an injury keeps you out of the first round, at least Winston's was.

The chances of a career ending injury are very low.  The chances of a nagging injury that could lower his draft stock is low too.  So I don't think it is a major risk if he comes back.  However with the new CBA it benefits him to start his NFL career sooner so that he can get out of his rookie contract sooner.

I think that probably depends on if he graduates this year or not.  I recall he tweeted out that he wasn't leaving until he got his degree.  Now it is possible he can get it at the conclusion of the spring 2017 semester if he took the following course load.  That would be at the end of June 2017.

You have to be a full time enrolled student to compete.  That is 12 credits in the fall.  Then with 16 credits in the winter and 6 each in summer and spring that gets you to 30 credits in a calendear year.  So you could foreseeably graduate in 3 calendar years if you took that class load.  I have no idea if peppers did or not, but it is possible could graduate by late june 2017.  Which would be 2 months after the draft so who knows

Agreed. I seem to recall him saying that early on, as well. I have a feeling that he's shared a different thought with JH since then, however, as Harbaugh has said on more than one occasion that Jabrill is already an NFL-ready athlete, or words to that effect. Would love to see him stay, but it's probably very long odds that he stays.

It's not really an "over/under" proposition, but the answer is, "he's gone."  At fifth overall or third overall as CBS had him a week or two ago, he would sign a contract for around $15 million guaranteeed and a total of around $25-30 million for his entire rookie contract.

If he wanted to come back, Harbaugh would be the first to tell him to leave and take the money.

To me, he looks the least like a QB "project," so it depends on the needs of the team, but if you're drafting a QB high to start year one, I could totally see him being the first QB drafted. Skill and build-wise, he looks pretty NFL plug-and-play ready.

Not seeing it considering they took Jalen Ramsey to play something of a Swiss Army knife role for them in last year's draft. That said, he'll be a major weapon if deployed properly.
