A suitable Protest idea next time Michigan plays at home

Here’s an idea for a subtle protest when we play Ohio State at home.

Before the game we should display the overall season record of every Big Ten team over the past five years and post a rhetorical question, “Reading the signs?”

These clowns are what their record says they are and any attempts to deflect it are just more excuses.

And even though that didn't happen in either of the two games that were played after the story broke, you're still convinced?

Man, why is it so hard to believe that most referees are professionals who, yes, sometimes make mistakes (both ways), but actually take pride in doing their job well? It's easier to believe that an entire refereeing crew would decide to put their careers at risk by screwing over a team on a nationally televised game with every play scrutinized?

Damn, we're some paranoid people, these days.

A referee job is a non-secure, transient job that is done at pleasure of the Big Ten conference.  As a ref, you have to make many 50/50 calls per game.  If you are a ref in a Michigan game, it is very clear where your employer wants you to come down on these calls.

No, the refs are not going to just make up bad calls out of the blue.

But in those 50/50 calls that could go either way (and there are a LOT of these in a game), there is a not so subtle incentive to have them go one way, and no benefit to have them go the other way.

You are not going to risk the ire of your employer by making a 50/50 call that you have to defend.

Agree to disagree, I guess. Until one referee reveals that the Big Ten has given him specific instructions to tilt a game one way or another, once, I'm going to assume they're doing the best they can. Not one Big Ten referee has ever written a book, or gone on a sports radio show, or spoken to the Athletic or Sports Illustrated, ever, to reveal that he was pressured to favor one team or another.

(Not to mention, I just don't believe that "the Big Ten" (who is that mysterious cabal of people, anyway?) has a vendetta against Michigan. I know that seems to be accepted as fact around here, but I've talked with fans at other schools who swear their conferences hate them, just as much, so I take that all with a grain of salt).

Beat Penn State

Beat Maryland

Beat the shit out of Ohio State

Win the B1G Championship game, celebrate with fans, ignore the trophy presentation stage, and leave Tony Petitti standing there by himself looking like an ass.

Let's start with beat Penn State. Nothing else should matter right now except it does because they've taken our coach.

I just hope Michigan comes out later focused like they have all year on the road.

I know he better not shake anyone’s hand tomorrow. Because he will be coaching. Straight to the locker room with maybe a loogie to the face if Frames tries to say hi. Ridiculous. You just altered the leveling playing field unfairly because the other coaches played you to do so. With no evidence or due process. This is such an easy legal case, I don’t think anything will ever actually get handed down on this (with effect). The B1G will realize how dangerous this is and pluck Tony straight out of his seat. Should be interesting but I’d expect a non-biased judge to be absolutely appalled by this.
